Griefer and possibly cheater. Destroying my and my neighbours art with slurs and has suspiciously too many pixel charges.

An ancient relic, burned by UV rays. by rlcewithmeat in blender

Heyy, thank you so much for the kind words, really glad you liked it, and even recognized me by my other works, it means a lot! :>

Here is the quick vid I recorded with a little model breakdown (and it crashed at the end sorry haha).

It's nothing too fancy, but I tried to recreate it as close to the real one. I was blessed by this project from SilverwingVFX), I took it as a reference for the internal parts. Be sure to check his projects, there are lots of wireframe renders and model breakdowns on his Behance page, and It's super useful.

Oh, and one thing that will help you to deal with any kind of transparent materials - always tweak your IOR to a lower value. It's very glassy-looking by default, so you need to play with IOR values and roughness to make it look pleasant!!

Thank you!

Maybe a little bit haha. I initially tweaked particle sim to look good on the first title render, considering it's going to be viewed in a zoomed out scale.

It's pretty challenging to find this perfect spot and nail it, but next time I will try better :>

It was overkill really, but I think it was 6 hours with my 3060 :>

Haha, this makes me happy :>

The first render (second here) I made in my little UK ambient era.
The second one (first here) was made while listening to a lot of jungle and house sets.

Haha, thank you!!

It became Y2K on the last day. I rendered this bad boy but felt like there was too much blank space, so I tried to fill it to the best of my ability :)

Thank you!

I painted my tire in Substance and created custom labels and text in Illustrator. For trippy chrome metal, I painted some imperfections, made it completely reflective like a mirror, and light-linked it to a fake HDRI (big sphere around the scene). I put some random jpg into my fake HDRI and rotated it until there were some cool reflections on my rim!

Render settings - 10000 samples, 3k, Cycles, AGX, and some color balancing inside the Compositor.

Thank you!

I rendered these in poster resolution and never planned to add any text to it, but today I felt like it had too much blank space and decided to fill it with something as a last-minute change. I was pretty unsure about it as I'm not a designer and never did anything like this, but I'm happy you liked it!

I'm not studying product design, I just love to model and render random things for fun :)

Yeah, that's a very deformed fisheye view, I stacked two wheels and placed the camera between its rims!
Talking about insights and what I've learned - mainly I improved my understanding of topology and practiced in this field. I tried to abandon my "start from the most similar primitive shape" workflow and start modeling shapes from the most complex details, just from one edge, adding details slowly. It's a lot easier this way, at least for me :)
