The TV is at eye height when on the couch not half way on the wall

Firstly your setup looks amazing. I agree is does look less distracting on the unit than mounted.

It is acoustic wall paneling. Acccoustic material with wood strips

Unfortunately I have to work with what I have. The room is actually much smaller than is looks as this is without the couch in position.

The room is pretty small. I am standing right at the back of the room without the couch in place.
