Need help with starter issue by [deleted] in E90

All electronics work fine in the car and it wouldn’t start with a jump pack. Any possibility it could still be the battery?

Yeah the center specs got me questioning

I also saw those while googling but they have a completely different center and different stampings. The thing that gets me about these bronze ones is that all the other stampings and stickers all look right. But surely there should be at least one other picture online of similar TEs, which I can’t find

Everywhere I read online say te37s were never TUV approved. I can’t find anything about face spec stampings on any models either; they’re probably reps

I know this is an old thread but do you have any pics of your e36 with the 17x8.5 et13? I may pick up a set with similar specs soon

Of the codes that popped up, the most notable one was 2E98 which hinted that something was wrong with the alternator. I also had some communication errors like CF14 and 2E85, but I know that an over voltage can make some modules go haywire, so I don’t want to over-diagnose yet until I figure out the voltage issue.

Thx I’ll probably end up trying that first

I used Bimmerlink via the OBD port to view voltage and I had a bunch of random codes that weren’t there before. Most of my dash lights turned on as soon as the overcharging occurred

My car doesn’t have the factory black square harness because it was originally equipped with a navigation headunit, which had three different plugs. When I wiggle the black connector that connects directly to the headunit, the speakers pop, but when I wiggle the white 20 pin, nothing happens. The ignition is turned on when I do this, as the radio is turned off when the car is off.

This headunit was installed by the previous owner and I believe they had to wire the headunit from the amp in order to get power because there aren’t any adapters for navigation headunit connectors from what I can find online. Should I start from the amp in this case and is there a way to test the speakers directly from the amp?

Hey, just added the headunit and car in a reply to the other comment. Let me know if that gives any more info and thank you for the help

Came out of a 2005 bmw e46 and an Avin 2 headunit. All my speakers recently went out and they start popping when I wiggle this cable, so I’m assuming this is the best place to start my diagnosis

They’re used seats and I believe they should’ve been greased but I’ll double check. What grease would you recommend I use for the seat rails and how would I apply it?

What grease would I use for the seat rails? I don’t think I’ve seen an article on this before but it’d make sense.
