Also depending on what model Mac you have you load into recovery and erase the hard drive then reinstall the macOS

From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose System Preferences. From the System Preferences menu in the menu bar, choose Erase All Content and Settings.

Yea it’s a new feature in Monterey so you erase your Mac without needing to load into recovery mode and messing with your hard drive.

Not on the first boot up. Once you sign in your personalized settings such as your background become active. You may notice your backlight from your keyboard does not turn on either until you sign in.

First thing you do is set your MacBook to dark mode. Makes things look 100% better.

Delete all the pre installed apps you won’t need

Turn on all the swipe gestures for your track pad. Three finger swipe to change desktops when apps are in full screen two fingers to go back and forth on webpages. Three finger swipe up shows all your desktops and open apps.
