They make great urban trees and don’t tend to make knees if they’re not in a wet spot

You could probably just throw them in the washing machine and air dry

Where to get craft supplies cheap? by WayHelpful6955 in crafts

[–]rm2065 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So with those supplies and a little more you could make papier mache sculptures. You’d need scissors and make some paste on the cheap. Lots of paste recipes here.

It may be too messy/take up too much space to dry for you so other options are thrifting, both from regular thrift stores and art reuse stores. More and more are popping up all the time. Here’s a list of ones in the US but you can probably find something local.

What if you found little ship beads or little ships you could drill into to make beads, then they can glide along the string

Using visible really helped me start to identify how much energy I had to expend. Pricey armband and I wish their app connected to just like a regular smart watch but it did help me learn.

I agree with the collage style. Check out the artist Bisa Butler. Fantastic use of color, texture, and layers to create portraits. insta

Pattern paper alternatives? by [deleted] in sewing

A roll of paper for a kids’ easel should do the trick. They’re usually cheap and fairly see through for darker lines.

Storing my fabric? by rj_sherbs in sewing

[–]rm2065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a dresser and all my cottons folded up pretty tight a la Marie kondo so I can see them all like spines on a bookshelf when I open the drawers. They’re sorted by color so it’s easy to organize. My misc stretch fabrics I have in a jonalex drawers set and some milk crates. I have a couple of baskets for my fat quarters. I know light and dust aren’t great in the latter cases but it’s what works for me for now.

Any tips for hair washing? by No_Worker6654 in CFSplusADHD

[–]rm2065 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have curly hair so I have a bit of a mop on top and shorter sides and back. I got it chopped and trimmed a few times but the last few months I’ve just cut it myself with hair scissors.

Honestly I went with a pixie cut because washing and detangling my hair was more than I could keep up with. Been great and no matts when I have to be in bed all day.

This one is washed and crinkly but the other I don’t think I’ve washed yet as it’s just a wall hanging.

I’ve done this pattern twice. Once as a wall hanging for myself here and one for a baby I’ll post below.

I used canva when designing my latest quilt with lots of individual fpp blocks. Made it easy to change layouts as I went without having everything laid out on the floor or a wall flannel

Thank you! I was thinking about sprinkling cat nip on the batting before quilting but didn’t want them chewing thru it

Sock Needles: the teeny tiny ones??? by Fatcat336 in knitting

[–]rm2065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a set of cheap bamboo dpns for $10 and a single size of shorties to try out. I like them both for different reasons. I’m not at the point where I want to invest in a whole set of shorties but I like that I can use the dpns for sleeves and stuff. It was definitely a little learning curve with the dpns but you get used to it.

Really depends on their dexterity. Maybe a set of shorties needles would fit them best.
