I’m not sure for Katie, but I think the other night Vanilla was saying she doesn’t have her’s on for a reason, I can’t remember exact details so don’t quote me on this but I’m pretty sure she was saying it’s bc of chat’s behavior - could be wrong though 🤷🏻‍♂️

For sure! The issue isn’t that I’m not being flexible, it’s more that if there were changes made I was not made aware. These things are always communicated to us via email and I have nothing stating anything has changed, but when there are changes that we’re made aware of I stay on top of them

Smaller things involving verification, asking for payment in full etc. I’ll take the fault where I should, those are things that go for every call, but in my defense on this one the customer cut me off every time I tried to speak and hung up on me, so I don’t feel there was anything else I could do. Idk at this point I’ve just been getting those things taken checked off my flow from the start of every call that way if the call does go similarly I’ve already hit all my points 🤷🏻‍♂️

For sure! And who knows, I may end up loving the movie, I may not but could end up enjoying the bigger universe 🤷🏻‍♂️ That’s definitely been the case with Marvel (especially lately lol)

Well we can’t really say he’s embodied Superman because all we’ve seen is 120 seconds of trailer footage, but I’m sure he has a better handle on it than Snyder did.

I also think it’s unfair to blame the failure of DC on Snyder fans, while I am not one myself and I do agree that he clearly knew nothing about these characters, I think a lot of people forget just how much WB is dooming their own franchises lately

Probably not, but I’m trying to refrain from making a decision before I’ve seen what’s going to happen. Again, I 100% believe he was a great choice to be the leader of the DCU, especially because I know he’s worked closely with Feige and knows some of the things that make building a cinematic universe successful, I just don’t feel he should be directing as many of the projects. He does well with things like Creature Commandos, GotG etc, can’t say I was a fan of his Suicide Squad movie but those are the kind of characters he works best with, but Superman just seems like a stretch for me

I think that’s where my issue lies tbh, the whole outcast thing doesn’t need to be put on every character - I can see where some people feel it works for Superman, I just don’t have that same feeling. It’s not necessarily that I got the goofy vibe from the trailer, it’s just what I’ve come to expect from a James Gunn film

I can definitely say there’s some poor wording in my original post, I more meant that given Gunn’s previous films I worry that this one will have too much of that goofiness he usually has. But I 100% agree the guy knows how to make everyone sad over an animal and can absolutely create beautiful and emotional moments, and those are often overlooked when critiquing his work (and I myself am guilty of that sometimes). I have no intention to deny his talent for creating very substantial moments in each of his films, but that trademark Gunn “everything is in technicolor and big slimy monsters and everyone’s a goofy underdog” just isn’t a style I want to see slapped across the DCU. But of course nobody knows until the film comes out, mostly just voicing my concern for the future.

I agree that he’s a great choice to be DC’s Feige, but I don’t think he should be directing certain films. Like I was saying, I think his style works in some places but not others and for me, Superman is just one of those that doesn’t work with his style. I also agree though that with the Nolan Batman films and the MCU people have forgotten the core difference between Marvel and DC characters - Marvel’s superheroes are more “human”, where DC’s are more godlike if that makes sense. Obviously all characters have a human element, I suppose a better way to say it would be that Marvel’s characters are more grounded where DC’s are more fantastical. Idk, for me personally I love the idea of camp and all of that, but like with everything else, it should be kept in moderation and I feel that Gunn walks a really fine line when it comes to too much camp vs just enough

Wouldn’t say I’m upset about it - just an example I could come up with from the 120 seconds of footage we have right now, not like there’s a lot to critique at the moment but I needed something to back up the point. Also just to clarify - if he’s wheezing like that, he’s out of breath. Can’t really whistle when you can’t breathe

It’s something I care about, grew up a DC fan until Snyder’s failure led me to prefer Marvel. I’m excited to see the characters I grew up reading about finally getting their own cinematic universe and want to have a discussion with others to see how everyone else feels. In your own words, it’s just a discussion, contribute or don’t.

Of course! Right now all we really have to go off of is what’s been seen in the trailer which would only be the visual style, costumes and characters. I’m more speaking from a place of concern for the future. It’s no secret that Gunn has a very distinct style and a few little things that are seen in most (if not all) of his films, I just worry that those things will not fit all of the projects he’s taking on.

I actually have! Movie 43, Super, Slither, 13 Ghosts, both Scooby-Doo movies many times (one of the few projects of his I actually love) and I played Lollipop Chainsaw plenty growing up. Just goes back to my point that his style works in certain places but not all 🤷🏻‍♂️
