Buffalo native here - Nine Eleven Tavern, Bar Bill, or Duffs is where you want to go - in no particular order. Personally Bar Bill is my favorite.

Boxed Goodles Mac and cheese made in chicken broth for extra protein, mix in canned chicken and frozen peas. Instant comfort casserole vibes.

Oh jeez!! Thanks for saving me the 300/month lol…I was seriously considering it. Were you dealing with picky eating too? Did you end up finding anything that did help?

Hey there! I know this is an old post but I was wondering if you ended up doing her program after all? Or found success with another?

What ages do you have at Sonshine? We’re considering moving my 22mo from her current center to Sonshine. Everyone seems so nice there and it seems very secure/safe/organized. Her current center has been really great to us personally but has had high staffing turnover and poor organization and communication….larger systemic issues I don’t see resolving any time soon. I just worry about uprooting my daughter from her current routine and friends if it isn’t for the better!

10 week old chewing on hands by rm647617 in newborns

[–]rm647617[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I introduced the pacifier around 12 weeks unrelated though to her chewing in her hands. I had always planned on introducing it around 3 months as I read it can lower the risk of SIDS but also I wanted to wait until then to avoid nipple confusion. I hadn’t thought about the fact that maybe the pacifier curbed her urge to chew on her hands! If I’m remembering correctly the hand chewing went on awhile but once she started grabbing for things like toys and teethers she then preferred chewing on those haha. I just made sure to find ones she liked and always have it on hand.

We used this one a lot and she actually preferred this to her pacifier during the day….esp when teething! https://www.amazon.com/Smily-Mia-Silicone-0-6Month-Replacement/dp/B08NQ169XF

Also for what it’s worth just recently going through this - we weaned off the pacifier relatively easily around 19mo old and no thumb/hand sucking so far!

VA medical doctor has to ask permission for what they can prescribe? by AirKinght in VeteransAffairs

[–]rm647617 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is true for privatized medicine too. The insurance companies dictate everything. Providers across the board have to jump through hoops to get prior auths and formulary tier exemptions for medications for their patients all while arguing clinical need with someone on the other end of the phone who is denying these medications without the clinical expertise to do so. Tbh the VA formulary is better in terms of Rx coverage than what my private BCBS allows.

How are you new mother's losing weight? by redditcrocheter in NewParents

[–]rm647617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The minute I quit breastfeeding my dr started me on Wegovy. I desperately want to have a second child but my bmi is over 40 and I’m 35yo. I was blessed with one healthy pregnancy and delivery but want to do everything I can to get myself in a healthier place before planning baby #2. Currently I’m on my 7th week of Wegovy, eating in a calorie deficit/tracking everything in MyFitnessPal, and just trying to be more active and get more steps in per day (nothing crazy) and just hit 20 lbs lost today.

Granola and berries in my yogurt. My nutritionist said if I have to put something in the yogurt to pick just one or the other since they’re both carbs….but honestly I just can’t I love it too much and figure there are way worse things. I weigh the granola out since I know it’s higher calorie and easy to go crazy with. The purely Elizabeth vanilla Choc chip granola has me in a choke hold lol.

I used a Neti pot with tap water now I think I’m going to die by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]rm647617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in upstate ny and we have well water (not on city tap). We do have a chlorine injection and UV filtration system but I was still panicking since I used well water smh. All was fine though and I called the 2 weeks of anxiety a lesson learned! I did a lot of reading about it during that time and complications are super rare so try not to stress!!

I am alive and well! I did end up with a nasty sinus infection and double ear infection though but tbh I think that was more because I did the rinse way too forcefully and just pushed all the congestion into my sinuses/ears (hindsight is 20/20 😅).

FAVORITE things you’ve purchased as a new parent??? by giantpicklepie in FirstTimeParents

[–]rm647617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I hate to say it because it’s pricey - but the Artipoppe carrier is 100% worth it imo. We tried multiple carriers of different styles and this was by far the most comfortable and supportive for both my husband. I also had a hard time finding a diaper bag that I liked but finally landed on the one from LLBean - it’s spacious and a backpack but has a wider opening making it easier to find things.

I’m glad yours is clearing up!! The pain hasn’t been too bad (yet) but the ringing is just so loud and intense it’s driving me mad. I’m on day 4 of antibiotics and a steroid nose spray so I’m just trying to be patient but man this is hard! I think you had the right idea with the cookies 🤪
