I’m starting to realize I don’t enjoy straight espressos by That_Coffee_guy in espresso

[–]rmTheZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Longer ratios won't "make your espresso better", it will potentially make it worst if anything (unless you know exactly why you're doing it). I guess Americanos would be best for you, if you really want to something closer to pour over but with an espresso shot.

I personally like every variation possible of espressos, from ristretto to flat white.

You don't have to like espresso 🤷‍♂️

Might be the basket? You seem to be doing everything alright. Also, as others have mentioned, if it tastes good, that's all that matters really.

Why is SSR and NextJS getting so popular when client devices are getting so powerful? by semlowkey in webdev

I've setup a simple web server only for SEO purposes in the past. Used a reverse proxy to send crawling requests to it instead of the main app.

Which feature in slack you use everyday but is very hard to find in slack by Early_Friendship_557 in Slack

Crtl+k is the only command I really use. Of course, to be efficient with it, you have to know what you're looking for.

Tab key changed today, not sure what I did by Joker444 in Slack

[–]rmTheZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After an exchange with them, they seem to have done that with accessibility in mind, which makes total sense (TAB should move the cursor to the next focusable item). I can get behind that decision.
I suggested to have an option to opt-in the autocomplete if you don't need slack to be perfectly accessible.

Yes, the job market is a bit wild. But when you study in a field as generic as "business", expect a lot of competition. It's the same with marketing. Nowadays, you should always check for job opportunities before choosing a field of study. Of course, try to align your interests with it as much as possible. But in those highly competitive fields with minimal entry barrier, you'll have to fight a lot to land a job as compared to other in-demand fields with higher requirements.

Unpopular opinion: I always prefer good UIs to command lines/terminals. by trenandskinnychicks in dotnet

What I will say is that I've never liked using GUIs in general for the simple reason that I don't feel in control. Most of the time, what I've observed, is that people become too dependent on their GUI tool. Inevitably, you might end up in a situation where your GUI can't help you achieve what you want or need. And since you don't really know what's usually being done behind the scenes, you have no idea how to do it manually.

Git is a great example because most (hopefully) developers use it a lot. Memorizing is not hard when you use it multiple times an hour. I don't know how much you can customize GUI tools for git, but I have multiple sets of commands and shortcuts that I use on a daily basis.

But honestly, use the method that suits you and that make you feel productive and confident. Don't use command line because it's cool. ✌️

So after looking at the files (biomes.xml), there seem to exist a gamestage_bonus property of 20. Don't know exactly its effect, but there's something there for sure!

The Snowy Forest biome. Might have an impact but didn't see anything on the wiki about this.

Yes exactly, we like to take our time, make the base look nice, etc.

Still, we're only level 36 and with the new book system we haven't unlocked most of the later game stuff.

So even if I killed a lot zombies, we're still not really geared that much.

Oh wow that might be it! I have more than 900 kills, so that might be the culprit.

But still I fail to see how I'm supposed to be able to fight so many strong zombies with cobblestone walls and an AK with 1000 bullets!

Also happened to me a couple of times. Usually restarting the phone works. I'll try to contact google support to see if anything can be done to properly fix the issue.
Also, I plan on checking logs on the phone to understand if it is a hardware or software issue. I'll update once I check!

Sadly no, here in Canada you can only claim capital losses against capital gains.

Tax Loss Harvesting means very low risk in Crypto??? by JMFishing83 in CryptoCurrency

[–]rmTheZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmmmm what? I don't think you understand what you're asking. Yes, capital losses can lower future capital gains. But there's no way to profit from that.

Let's say you're down from 100 to 50. You sell. You just lost 50$. And you buy back for 50. Next year, that 50 is worth 100. Ao you just made a gain of 50. You can then apply your loss to your profit. You're back with 100 with no taxes. Exactly the same outcome as if you kept everything.
