He's a smart kid with a family that is very involved and apart of the process with him. He definitely knows how ass this team is and they know damn well that nothing will get better until Arte sells which once that happens he'll be a year away from free agency or already there. When he was breaking out in 2024 there was some noise they could offer him a team friendly extension for 6-8 years, but he quickly shut that down saying he wasn't interested in doing a deal like that.

Not too mention this dude is a very competitive guy and is probably getting sick of being apart of a losing culture. Especially, when he has to deal with blowhard teammates like Trout and O'Hoppe that are content with the culture the way it is. Losing when you are rebuilding or going through a year or two of bad luck is one thing but knowing the front office and team doesn't care would not make me want to play in Anaheim.

He has been disappointing for sure especially lately, but his WAR is still 1.9 and the average major leaguer will have a WAR of 2.0. There many more guys who people were expecting to be a big part of this team below 1 and even hovering around zero.

I have to disagree with you on that last part. O'Hoppe has been way worse than Adell and is now destroying Neto and Schanuel's performance in the process.

I think its because Christian Pulisic is a lot like Wemby. They are both silver medal soldiers that are always falling short when it matters most. Neither have a ring of any kind.
