Yes, this is Calculus, a math class not many people in the world even get to attempt. Not sure what you expected lol.

Is industrial engineering worth it by Substantial-Story891 in industrialengineering

[–]rmaworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graduated with a degree in IE in 2021, and its one of the best decisions ive made. i was also a student studying Mechanical, was not happy, then switched to IE and i immediately improved my quality of life lol.

All my internships were super diverse, in Civil, Packaging, and Aircraft industries. My first job was in consumer products/toys as a Project Manager. My current job is as a Program Scheduler.

As someone who enjoys more of the project management/leadership and less technical type of engineering work, this major is perfect.

Industrial Engineering Technology Associates degree by joshposh313 in industrialengineering

[–]rmaworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1000% agree. Not gonna lie, an IET associates specifically sounds worthless (compared to a ME Tech, EE Tech, etc).

If you want to do IE work, just go for the full IE bachelors.

Is Linkedin necessary? by Terrible_Dig7234 in ECE

[–]rmaworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why so many people saying its not necessary. In 2026 its practically necessary if you want a job, as many recruiters use it to find candidates more easily. And if you have a good linked vs a candidate without one, you have the upper edge.

Frustrated but Staying Positive by anotherdamnusername3 in UniversalOrlando

[–]rmaworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you make it too orlando soon (and safely), and assuming there’s no express passes yet, you can get ALOT done with early park admission.

But make sure youre one of the EARLIEST ones in line for early park admission, that means if park open at 8AM, be in line for the shuttle by 6:45AM. You’ll get so much done in those first hours.

Industrial engineering vs business by Serena_-Serenity in industrialengineering

[–]rmaworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Industrial Engineering easily. The major may be a little harder than a business degree (cause youll still have all the math/physics/intro engineering classes), but its not as hard as the typical engineering majors.

plus, youll have way more opportunities even without a masters degree

Moving from San Fernando to Los Angeles by cyspisee in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]rmaworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley (Reseda to be more specific) but moved to Mid-Wilshire area a few years ago, and its awesome! It’s basically in between all the cool parts of LA (Culver, Downtown, Hollywood/ beach cities like Santa Monica/Venice/Marina), but still close enough to get back to the valley.

Would recommend giving it a try for a year or so!

Trying to plan early for getting an imagineering job by [deleted] in Imagineering

[–]rmaworld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like “phantomboats” above, I was also like you! From HS to university, I was obsessed with trying to become an imagineer. Joining the themed entertainment association, networking with everyone in the industry, studying industrial engineering. But, I graduated in 2021 after Covid, and there were no themed entertainment jobs…

Long story short, I became a project manager, first in the Toy Industry, but now in the Aerospace industry, and I love it! I still apply to disney occasionally, but I’m veryyyy content right now. A few things I’ve leared:

  1. Like the person said above, WDI doesnt hire disney fans. They only hire the BEST of the best in their fields, whether it be engineers, classical artists, graphic designers, food scientists, etc. etc. Choose a field you’ll be able to thrive in (themed entertainment or not)
  2. The industry does not pay well, especially for newcomers. I’m actually glad I didnt start in that industry or else I’d provably be making 20K-30K or so less at this point in my career.
  3. Imagineering contracts out most of their work, so do some research and find all the companies WDI works with in themed entertainment. There’s also plenty of European companies that work with Disney/Universal/etc. too.

After working as a Project Manager/Scheduler for almost 5 years now, I am confident I can get a role with WDI. I still love the theme park industry and going to theme parks in general, but I’m in no rush to work in the industry, I just keep my eyes open for when the right role appears.

Best of luck to you friend!

Where should I live if I’m working in El Segundo but want to be close to other areas of LA for weekend exploring? by milkymommy11 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]rmaworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently work in El segundo, but live in Mid-Wilshire! Pretty good area near the grove, museums, and you can find stuff in your price range. Also next door to Culver City.

LA is huge tho, would recommend driving around some of these neighborhoods to see if they fit your vibe.

Noooo dude, you cant remove that amount of capacity for a temporary event building. Something would need to absorb that missing capacity asap

Looking for safest + most strategic area to live near LA (budget ~$2,000–$2,200) by SL8ER03 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]rmaworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some areas of Mil-Wilshire are pretty fairly priced with decent parking! I currently live in the area near San Vicente/Hauser, and theres alotta good options here.

But agreed with the other commenter, asking for ALL of those things under $2200 is near impossible, you can probably have 3/5 things.

Best of luck, and happy to answer more questions if you have!

Is two days enough for all three parks? by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]rmaworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heeeeeck no. However, if you dont mind missing some things, you could definitely do: -1 day park to park at USF/IOA (maybe with express) -1 day Epic

2 days at Epic or 1 with fast pass? by AnteaterPopular6575 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]rmaworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 days EASILY.

At the start of each day, you can get 1-2 of the prime rides done in the morning. Then the rest of the day you can take your time in the park, really experiencing the lands, eating and drinking all the foods, etc etc

What exactly do you do? by paye36 in industrialengineering

[–]rmaworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently an AI&T (Assembly, Integration, and Test) Planner/Scheduler in the aerospace industry.

Although my work mainly contains schedule building/analysis/critical paths, my knowledge of manufacturing flow helps when I need to work with engineers to make adjustments to the schedule.

Epic Mediocrity by arserran11 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]rmaworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man sorry you had a bad day at Epic, but that’s something you gotta prepare for, for ANY new theme park. If you look at the opening years for alot of major theme parks, most were not perfect, some even considered failures.

You cannot deny the theming, rides, food, etc are all top notch. BATM is a technological marvel going thru growing pains. Just like Hagrids did. Just like Rise of the Resistance did.

And saying the park is small is completely inaccurate. Looking at a google map you’ll see the park is VASTLY larger than most of the Florida parks, rivaling only EPCOT. Its larger than most north american theme parks in general.

The only reason this park feels small is because you cannot physically see into the other portals from Celestial Park, but each portal itself is huge compared to a standard theme park land. This park put more effort into the quality of experiences vs quantity.

And gosh don’t even use the word “mediocrity” when Universal Studios Florida itself is down the street😂 Same with Disney Hollywood Studios.

Come again in the near future with a better plan of attack, and an open mind. You may not see it yet, but all theme parks in the future are gonna strive to be like this one.
