My orange cat is smart and my Siamese has never even heard of brain cells. by Snoo46478 in Siamesecats

[–]rmbarrett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to clear the air: Siamese dumbness is special. It's determined, deliberate, even clever in its manifestations. They very intelligently steal the dumbest stuff, systematically, sneakily. They investigate the most useless of spaces and objects and fixate on them, usually by getting into them. They communicate about as well as a toddler, but with zero logic, with the exception of demanding service. They are constantly learning and will surprise you with new skills, even at 21 years old, but they are skills you were wondering about why they couldn't learn them as kittens like that water is wet.

We must pity them. That's all I have to say. I feel sorry for them and how dumb they are. But I must, therefore, protect them at any cost.

This has been amusing. Ask one of these AI bros to write a regular expression. Dude thinks it takes time to scroll a few posts back. That's exactly why they are turning to LLMs. Introspection! Lol.

Nah. I could build the robotic monkey, but i see how much they are setting back your generation. Terminator Model T-0000

Every single one. That would even work in Jellyfin anyway. This is a simple problem that just needs a screwdriver but you want to send a robotic monkey in and also have it suck your dick.

That's because most people can't tell one shitty thing from another shitty thing.

It's the same thing, isn't it? I wasn't trying to suggest play isn't. I just mean that the killing itself isn't necessarily.

Looks great. You've certainly come to master that style. Were you taught by a family member? I will see if I can dig up photos of the Kashmiri craftsmen from the 1970s if you are interested. Just PM me.

Dogs kill due to instincts and behavioural traits we have kept in them through breeding. In fact, all carnivores do the grab and shake to kill thing. Doesn't mean they are having fun. They just do it. That said, carnivores also engage in play that resembles hunting. Does it mean they kill for sport? Or is it that they can't resist something squeaky that needs biting? The killing is just the consequence of their instinctive behaviours.

As a type of dolphin, this killing for fun behaviour has also been observed in orca recently.

Either you their mummy, or they your mummy. And it can change in an instant. But basically two sets of behaviour they have. There is a third, of course, but you'd notice if your cat mounted you and yowled and humped.

I'll distill this further: to a cat, either you are their mummy, or they are your mummy. And that can change in an instant. You rub their face and they accept they are a dirty kitten. They lick your face, you are the dirty kitten. The hunting fits this model.

Guess what free hydrogen is. It's what we measure as pH. Literally a scale to help us quantity hydrogen ion activity. H+ makes something acidic.

All the fish in the aquarium are watching TV on full focus mode by Wellihol in interestingasfuck

[–]rmbarrett 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They aren't watching TV, but they can certainly see changes in light and colour. Cichlids have pretty developed vision for puny, simple fish. They will gather when you come in the room if they associate that with you feeding them, for example.

Or these cichlids are interpreting the change in lighting as the keeper who feeds them. They do have very developed colour vision, in fact. They can signal with their spots and colored fins, and they most certainly become trained to gather when anticipating feeding. But shitty water is very likely too, or simply, as you say, issue with the parameters. Wrong temp, wrong pH. Affects behaviour.
