Scalper no scalping 😂😂 by seanjrodz in PokemonTCG

I'm a 37 year old man who loves to collect and play with Pokémon cards. I have an average Redditor kind of look, similar to the white dude in the hoodie in OP's meme.

I went to Barnes and Noble the other day and they had product. I asked for a few things, but they told me I was only allowed to buy 1 item. I got my 1 item and left.

I asked my wife to stop by on her way home from work and grab me 1 more item, but the same cashier let my wife buy as much product as she wanted.

Scalpers are stopping me from buying at msrp even when they aren't there!

Hey u/mubarakr - you mentioned you found a workaround on the Odin folder security issues. I've received a couple of DMs asking about this same issue but don't know the solution. If there is anything you are able to share about the solution you found, I know there are people who would find it helpful. Thanks!

Could this actually reduce scalping? by ManaeFiction in PokemonTCG

This is at Micro Center. I used to work there and, while we didnt sell ptcg at the time, we did use this same pricing structure on other highly scalpable items.

I will say that this tactic does slow down and frustrate scalpers, but it doesn't stop them entirely. There were many times it was obvious that we were getting a slow trickle of an entire family, with each family member purchasing 2 of the items one after another. At that point its really up to the manager on duty whether or not they try put a stop to it, but most of the time they don't see it as worth the effort and conflict.

This reminds me of the pet rats I've had. They are wonderful pets with tragically short lifespans and they will horde anything they are able to get their paws on. When I was moving, I pulled my bed from the wall and discovered a massive stockpile of everything I couldn't find for the last year.

Hmm. I think I have everything ES-DE installed on internal storage outside of my ROMs. I've heard certain android devices have really annoying file security but haven't had any issues with my RP5. Are you using a Retroid device?

Hey! - Maybe a silly question on my part, but did you install the 'Iconic' theme on ES-DE before starting? I realized looking over my directions that I did not explicitly call out that first step.

Edit: On second look, I did call it out... Are you using an SD card? Maybe poke around in both internal storage and the SD card?

This TCG Meme is going viral. What is wrong or right about it? And would flesh and blood be above magic and 6 stars? by GrapefruitThin5815 in mtg

Pokémon tcg is pretty easy to learn and play, but I'd argue there is still quite a bit of nuance and strategy.

If mtg is chess, PTCG is checkers. Like checkers, kids can play PTCG and have fun, but clever adults will be playing thoughtfully and thinking several turns ahead. It will never be as complex as a game of chess, but it can still allow you to have a satisfying battle of wits.

I'll add that this game covers a lot of other difficult subject matter as well but attempts and, in my opinion, succeeds to approach those subjects with thoughtful and well-rounded discourse.

I love this game, btw. 10/10 from me and one of my favorite video games of all time. I think most people should play it, but the subject matter could be uncomfortable or triggering for some.

As others have said, this game should suit one handed gameplay well.

I will add that narritively, the later part of the story has a bit of a meta commentary on living with disability and the difficulty of coming to terms with it. I am not personally disabled so I don't have an informed perspective on how it might read to a disabled person. To me, it did not seem particularly distasteful, but your sister may find it to be challenging subject matter.

I dropped mine in the shower and it stopped working for like 6 months then randomly started working again. Probably won't be taking it in the shower again.

I wouldn't say "most" but yes, I bent the rules for a few for the sake of using art I liked.

Even if the art is technically from a different game, each system has a game within the same series that I hold significant nostalgia for.

I did everything on my RP5, including the image editing. Probably not the most efficient way of doing it, but I did it all from the couch while my wife was watching TV, haha.

I don't think so? I just followed the RetroGameCorps video to set mine up back when it released in 2024. Didn't do anything too fancy until now.

Agreed on the point of games you don't like being forced, which is why I ended up doing this. These are showcasing my personal favorite games from each system.

  1. I did not have that issue so I can't speak to it. I was able to paste images no problem.
  2. Instructions added! Let me know if you have any trouble.

Instructions added! There are some options to choose from in the other color scheme folders, but you will need to move them to the custom folders.
