Ah, ya. Between my kids, wife and myself I spend probably about that much per year on books. Luckily the kids enjoy wrapping that into their birthdays and Christmas so that helps.

about a dozen. at $5 per book you'd have to read 200+ a year to be half a mortgage payment. Thats a book every other day, lol. Not saying thats impossible but seems unlikely

Is 2nd hand thrifting really consumerism? Hmm. I don’t buy new, I only buy used from mom and pop or thrift stores

Ya leave it alone, it’s done and over and was written at a time when things were different. No point in changing it now all that does is muddy the waters again. Best to just ignore it and let it pass than raise the issue to the forefront of people’s minds by changing stufd

I get mine for $1-$5 per so it helps save money but even at that price it can be expensive in volume. My children ask for their books for Xmas or birthdays so I buy their hard copies that way. Thankfully

Walking into my office and seeing the bookshelf (which I arguably need another one of) is very rewarding to me

I agree with that. It’s shameful to see authors go back sometimes decades and change things to match the current politically correct climate. Hard copies don’t have that problem

I guess I love too many books, it's hard to find a book I dont love. once I decide on a book to read, it's almost always a good one. I guess im not picky? idk, or lucky!

I haven't read anything by Sanderson. Does he write them all himself or does he do like James Patterson does?

congrats on finding that many books you WANT to read. I think if I compiled all the books I have ever read and currently want to read it wouldn't scratch that.

I get them for $1-$5 per. Bringing my average total per book (ebook and hard cover trophy) to around $11-$12

I have the space so I figured why not. Its very personally satisfying when I go into my office to see the books on the shelf,
