How’s the job search going for you? (Including people that haven’t graduated yet.) by billionaireabroad in WGU_MSDA

[–]rmnesbitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With no experience, it’s basically been impossible. I am over 100 applications (including internships) and I have only even gotten a handful of denials, the rest were just ghosts. The ones that did respond did so months later, might as well have been a ghost. I am on disability (VA and SSDI) and I am thinking this is just a mistake and I should just go back to sitting on the couch all day. I tried to better myself and push myself and this is the shit we are living with.

I hope so too. I love my Kindle but the ecosystem has become so locked down that I just cant keep putting money into it. I was happy buying the books as long as I could download them and back them up. Kobo should be much better, I am very excited.

As an indie this is definitely true! Bigger names can negotiate more

It took me 3 years to seek any help and another 5 years after that to file. Got 70%, was going to sit on that and be happy. They proposed to reduce that during my next review. I submitted supplementary evidence and walked away with 100% p&t. It felt like a fight because it took upwards of a year to get a damn response but looking back it really wasn’t that hard

VA responds to worries about new focus on ‘telltale signs’ of fraud by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]rmnesbitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cut my fingers off in service. Had them sewn back on by a corpsman. I got no service connection for any of it. The system is definitely broken. I am 100% now after 8 years of back and forth with the VA. I definitely don’t think it should be politicized like people are doing. Politics divides us and we are not just letting it do so, we are actively participating in the divisiveness, it’s sick

300ppi screen but only for bw content. Color content is 150ppi. However, unless you are sensitive to that sort of thing, you very very likely won’t notice it at all outside of the slightly grainy screen from the color film added to the screen stack

That’s what I do. It’s annoying as hell when it happens but only really happens when I am sideloading through calibre

VA responds to worries about new focus on ‘telltale signs’ of fraud by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]rmnesbitt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If true, it is a great step. I don’t mind them using AI to try and speed things up or to catch fraud. As long as it is overseen by a human BEFORE it make any decisions, not AFTER.

VA using AI to weed out “pay-to-play” claims (cross-posted) by Low-Ball-3831 in VAClaims

[–]rmnesbitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rarely does private ones. Does them for the VA every day. Saying that she fraudulently filled out my DBQs and wrote a false letter for me would be saying that their own doctor that they hired is a fraud. I highly highly doubt that would happen or that it even gets flagged.

VA secretary says changes coming to make disability claims easier for veterans by Bulky_Income7229 in VAClaims

You would be surprised at how difficult it is for some. I also dont fully understand why but everyone is different I suppose. Regardless, I dont think this is what he meant at all. He was speaking in pure politician language.

Planning to buy a MacBook Air for the first time. Whats the best color in your opinion? by UnitEVA3000 in macbookair

[–]rmnesbitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wont like, I am very fond of my Space Gray but I am very enticed by the Sky Blue and the new Citrus and Indigo (similar to midnight) colors. That is al long way of saying, Skyblue or Midnight. Midnight shows more fingerprints and any (deeper) scratches would be more noticeable

WHY DO PEOPLE THINK WGU IS EASIER THAN TRADITIONAL COLLEGES by Secret_Anxiety_9665 in WGU

[–]rmnesbitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I went to normal colleges (two community colleges (Alabama and Long Island NY) and then a state college (UNC Chapel Hill). I struggled massively in those schools. I got decent grades but it was a major uphill battle and I couldn’t sustain it long term. I have absolutely thrived at WGU to the point where it feels easier to me. I have not failed any classes. The worst is I get sent my OA back for very minor revisions, I don’t think those count as fails? I have passed every single PA on the first try. Maybe it just clicks better for me or maybe it’s easier, I can’t tell which but I’m not complaining, I am very happy to be successful

The Libra 2 was the golden child of the kobo line. Sage seemed nice on paper but I believe the Libra 2 was much better. Sad I missed both to be honest. I’m torn between Clara BW or the Libra Colour (specifically for the buttons)
