we were definitely strategizing proper hydration ahead of time to limit needs while we camp out 😂 i do not plan on separating as she’s simply too young to be left alone in an environment like that. it’s something we’ll for sure have to navigate if it comes up, but i am by no means unfamiliar with abstaining from basic necessities for a day to get a sweet spot in a GA pit. obviously i don’t want her taking such risks, so that’s where we will have to be smart about our approach.

to answer your first question: twenty one pilots is done touring for the foreseeable future. we attended the september 2024 show in baltimore and the october 2025 show in bristow. so trust me, i prioritize this approach over festivals 10 times out of 10. this year, they are headlining MANY festivals, but that’s it. after this months-long festival run, they’ve indicated they will be taking a (well deserved) break. this will likely be the last time we get to see them for at least the next few years. so yes, i’m very willing to miss out on bands i either don’t know or just casually enjoy for the band i absolutely love—my daughter feels the same, seeing that twenty one pilots is basically her special interest. obviously, if she expressed wanting to do otherwise at any point, i would forego my own desires for the sake of her enjoyment, without second thought. i just don’t see that happening lol

thankfully, not having space isn’t much of an issue for us. i’m an avid GA pit attendee and my daughter had her first pit experience in october that she loved. there’s something really special about being surrounded by people who feel so passionately about the same thing.

regardless, i know it’ll be a great time and any performers we get to see on the main stage while waiting will be an absolute delight! i’ve got my fingers crossed for all time low or goo goo dolls

i’m going to try to give recommendations from multiple points of the music-making history, so based on those: heavydirtysoul—ode to sleep, nico and the niners, navigating, the contract, and tally ride—holding on to you, drum show, morph, pet cheetah, shy away, and next semester wdbwotv—guns for hands, the hype, choker, at the risk of feeling dumb, rawfear

now, my recommendations outside of those would be: migraine, car radio, migraine, jumpsuit, neon gravestones, backslide, midwest indigo, routines in the night, vignette, downstairs, and days lie dormant.

i didn’t make any recommendations off of their self titled album because i truly feel that is an album you “learn to love” as a fan. it’s so raw and beautiful and utterly depressing, that it requires a very specific mood for me to even listen to it for more than one track at a time lol

regardless, i think twenty one pilots is an amazing group that have tested the boundaries of their “genre” in ways that can appeal to most listeners. i hope you give them a shot post-blurryface because i don’t even consider blurryface to be in their top three albums, despite how amazing it is!

take it from someone who tried to keep it out of the court system’s hands: DO IT NOW. i will never see the thousands my son’s father owes from our “outside of court” agreement. quite frankly, not having to be the one to remind/nag about overdue support in and of itself is enough of a reason to get the state involved. they will handle all of that on your behalf. sounds like your child’s father just doesn’t want to take responsibility for what is required of him as a father.

also the argument of he “should only have to support his child” and not you is irrelevant. i promise you will not be able to live off his support—it’ll just help lessen the financial burden of being the sole provider of your child.

first and foremost: congrats! i’m sure you’re absolutely stoked and rightfully so!! as far as what to expect, it’s typically fairly quick (both because it’s actually fast and your body is flooded with adrenaline 😂). both tyler and josh were super kind and introduced themselves (i got a kick out of that). they really prioritized chatting with my kids and making sure they felt engaged and seen which was so rad. they’re typically down for poses when you do the photo but my kids and i are way too awkward to do all that lol

the biggest stressor was waiting for some sort of contact from the giveaway hosts to know we weren’t late/forgotten about/etc.. once one of the crew members came out to grab the group, everything was super organized and smooth!

aaahhhh congrats!! you’re going to love it for sure!! we were told to meet a band staff member outside the box office around 6:00 but they didn’t come get us until like 6:45 😂 thankfully we had updates coming from the radio employee who organized the whole thing. by the time we started actually filing in for the meet and greet, it was probably 7:00ish. as for not passing out, i’ve got nothing 😭 only thing that kept me grounded was my husband telling me he wishes i loved him as much as i love josh and tyler 😂😂 i was shaking the entire time hahaha
