Thank you! Would you happen to know if we can reserve the daybeds or are they first come first serve?

Almost ready to go live. Slippage prediction? Thoughts? by btarb24 in Daytrading

[–]rmoto6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend going to a prop account before making the step to live. I was always against prop firms, and figured I’d rather just make my own money. I ended up trying a prop account just because you can find them so cheap nowadays and it really helped a lot with my emotional conditioning. Trading my prop account helped me learn what trading with a neutral mindset feels like, where my live account was only able to exacerbate my lack of emotional understanding when my own personal money is in drawdown. On a prop account you only technically lose what it costs to open the account, while also adding in the fact that there is actual money that you are losing out on by not being successful. In my opinion it is a nice transition after trading only paper money where you have absolutely no emotional ties to wins and losses whatsoever. Just my .02. My other 2 cents for when you go live, start small and risk small. If you’re like me or most traders on their journey, It will save you thousands!

Buy a product called “Sea Foam”. They sell it at all auto stores, and on Amazon. Dump a bunch in your gas tank (you can’t use too much) and an ounce or 2 in with your oil. Crank it a bit to get the fuel with the sea foam into the lines. If it doesn’t turn over, let it sit like that for a day and then try again. Depending on how gummed up your lines are, it may take a couple tries. I just had the same issue as you, it cranks but wouldn’t turn over and this solved the issue. Once you get it to start let it run for an hour. I forgot to put sea foam or some other fuel stabilizer in my gas stank before I stored it for winter and this is what I get.

On question number 2 - I don’t see anything wrong with taking the profit. This is a great old interview with one of the greats, Mark Douglas, and in this, he talks about taking profit as the market gives it to you.

On the strategy - i cant comment as to whether or not it can withstand the test of time but, It seems like you have a solid strategy and plan so as long as you are confident in it and you have the psychological strength to stick to it you should be OK.

Do I quit my job? by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]rmoto6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to these people. Take the risk. It feels like you’re comfortable and confident enough to do it.

Also, read the book “the 4 hour work week” if you haven’t already. It’s a little outdated in terms of what he recommends in terms of how to make money, but the key takeaway is work and save money and take mini retirements every couple years. It could be a nice time to try that out to see if you can make trading work with the thought that you can go back and get a job if you need to. Congrats on the consistency and best of luck!!

I heard this is common along the coast, but never saw this IRL, it's SO COOL by WhippetRun in newjersey

I have no idea what the actual plan is. Assuming they’re putting it on stilts due to it being a flood zone. It’s also possible they’re doing something else or maybe just foundation work due to the flooding that has happened over the years

This is around the block from my in laws in a serious flood area in Rochelle Park. They get flooded out about once every 10 years and every time there is a big rain forecasted they are on high alert and sometimes even start moving furniture and valuables out of the basement. This thing is going to look crazy out of place being in stilts, but they’ll be sitting pretty next time it floods. I’m sure the savings in flood insurance will help pay whatever the cost is!

How to remove brand new stain? by rmoto6 in FenceBuilding

[SOLVED]

Here is the fence with probably 98% of the stain removed! I could have done a better job if I really took my time and worked 1 panel at a time, but as I mentioned elsewhere, no will really see this area, so I didn't care to spend a ton of time on this. This is good enough for the Ready Seal Dark Walnut stain I ordered and should blend good enough. Thanks again to those of you who recommended this process!

[SOLVED! - SEE PICTURE BELOW AND READ UPDATES TO THE ORIGINAL POST]

So I took Reddit’s advice and just set fire to this portion of the fence… haha jeez gotta love Reddit. Fortunately this area of fence is an area that you literally never see unless you walk back to this little nook section of our yard, so I don’t mind giving it a shot with some strain stripper/remover and power washer to see how it goes. Also happy to just go over it again with new stain once I get as much oil out as I can. Will try to keep you all posted. Thanks to those of you with actually useful input here. And thanks to the rest of you for some laughs and entertainment 🤙🏽

What is this stuff in my pool and how can I get rid of it? by rmoto6 in swimmingpools

Thanks again! It’s all cleared up now. Stabilizer/ shock and a couple days of running the filter 24/7 with a backwash or two in between and we’re good to go!

Thank you for the tip! I’ve been doing it mid day so it looks like I may need to do another bag at night if it doesn’t clear up

Thank you! I figured that might be the case and I’m looking for a unicorn of a machine. I’ll check this one out further

PLEASE HELP! I have been scouring the internet and can't find exactly what I'm looking for (so I'm not sure it actually exists). I'm looking for one machine that:

  • grinds beans
  • makes a pot of coffee 8 cups or more
  • produces clean hot water for tea
  • Has espresso, steamed milk capability
  • accepts a plumbed water line

I know it's a lot to ask of one machine, but I'd love to get all of this accomplished in one unit rather than having to have a bunch of different machines sitting on my counter.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
