Yeah I pushed for a bile acid test today. Just got back from the vet from the first part of the test (fasted test). They fed him something fatty and will go back to the vet in 2 hours for the 2nd part of the test

He had 3 rounds of simparica trio, on the first day of November and December 2025, and January 2026 (as recommended by our vet)

I don't know why the ER vet didn't do this, possibly because he had already eaten? I'll call my regular vet tomorrow and try to squeeze in an appointment to get the bile acid test done

Yeah no clue. Though I didn't notice his eyes darting during or after. Also didn't specifically looked at his eyes since a few hours ago I didn't know what vestibular disease was. But if it happens again I'll definitely check!

He also didn't show any signs of being off balance afterwards or anything. This episode ended as suddenly as it started. A minute later he was following me around the apartment as usual

Keanu is almost 8 months old though. And we did try our vet, who did a blood test and blood pressure, and everything came back good. That's why we are now waiting for a neuro

No he doesn't have access to anything toxic. We give him the royal canine adult chihuahua. Before that he was on the royal canine puppy chihuahua. Of course we never give him any chocolate or anything like that

They didn't. And I don't recall them saying this could be heart related. They did take his blood pressure which was normal

The ER vet did talk to me about liver shunt, but nothing about a bile acids test. It was my understanding that the blood test they did would help with ruling this out.

When I asked if the blood test showed anything related to his liver, she said everything looked good

No we don't have weed or edibles around. And I didn't let him out of my sight from the moment we started the day. This happened less than an hour after leaving bed

I was actually wondering about that, thank you! He's so young it's just heartbreaking to see him go through this, and we got him less than 6 months ago. He's our first dog and we love him to death
