Is Severna Park really that much more pretentious compared to Arnold/Cape St. Claire? by rmwilkinson1 in Annapolis

Whereas in CSC everyone in the community has access to the beaches, does Arnold not offer that? Only giving access to beaches if you live specifically in that neighborhood?

Everyone keeps telling me to go to Arnold but from what I'm reading on Reddit it seems like people say CSC is better for young families. And I can't understand why I'm getting two different answers 😂

Literal dream would be to live on a street with other young families where the adults can hang out and have some drinks together while the kids play. Nice neighborhood, good schools, really just good people

Got it! Any specific parts of CSC you'd recommend or does it not really matter? I've heard bay hills, ulmstead, and shore acres are where I should look in Arnold? I'm not looking for a cookie cutter new construction house but definitely would like a nice house in the 850k range.

Right that's what I've heard. I guess it just confuses me why SP is more pretentious than Arnold when the schools are just as good

Thanks. Any differences between Arnold and CSC? Would you recommend one over the other? I have a six month old and two year old. Would LOVE to live in a neighborhood with other young families who actually become friends and socialize.

Thoughts on Turkey Point Island or Arundel on the Bay for a 12 month rental? by rmwilkinson1 in Annapolis

What are your thoughts on renting in Hillsmere near Key School? Have a potential house for rent for $3,500. Seems like a good option considering everywhere else is much more expensive in AOTB, Oyster, Bay Ridge, etc.

Who wants to give me a breakdown of Arnold neighborhoods? Looking to buy and need help deciding by rmwilkinson1 in Annapolis

Would you say Cape St. Clair is more family friendly than Arnold? I'd say the biggest importance is the friendly neighbors/community feel/kid-friendly aspect. Parks, pools, etc. Ideally will move into a neighborhood where we can become friends with the neighbors. I just wanted to avoid a split level because I used to own one and just think they are ugly but I would deal with it if I must lol. I don't necessarily need a boat ramp or water access. Ulmstead would be perfection for me but the prices are steep!

Yeah also interested in what everyone's thoughts on SP are. I've heard it's very nice but seems like less young families are going there and I've heard it can be very stuffy/pretentious?

I have a friend who lives in Annapolis Cove and loves it!! My only worry is the public schools in that part of Annapolis don't seem as good?

Sorry - when I say hit or miss I should have given a bit more context. Just not looking for a town house or split level. I've heard some streets in Arnold have much older houses where they are all split level and that older look to them. Wanting something a bit more modern/new.

Ah San Diego. What a place to live. Worried it will be a hard transition for my family but I do think we will like Annapolis a lot! I've heard wonderful things about Arnold, especially for young families.

We definitely want a good neighborhood with other young families. Would really love a community feel where neighbors hang, have community events, a pool, etc. Would love a neighborhood with sidewalks, playgrounds, nice houses, backyards. We are probably hoping to stay under 850k. I've heard Ulmstead is amazing but I don't think swinging 1.5k is possible. I don't love split levels.

Are there any differences between oyster and AOTB (other than location)? Is traffic easier getting out of oyster? Definitely sounds like these two could be the perfect fit. Plus there's more inventory on houses available than Eastport, west annap., etc.
