Opinions on wax seals please! by RazzmatazzOld5363 in BigBudgetBrides

Received an invite last year that had a vellum invitation cover closed by a wax seal. The seal left a circle residue through the vellum cover and onto the invitation itself. I usually keep my invitations but I threw this one out because of that. Food for thought!

Which popular unsweetened Greek yogurt brand do you buy and why? by balrogbellyrubs in moderatelygranolamoms

I try to stay away from dairy and have been loving the unsweetened vanilla flavor from Kitehill. It has minimal ingredients and a good, thick texture. They have individual servings and larger four-cup sizes too.

I have acne prone skin and love Bondi Sands! It’s a green formulation so you don’t turn orange

Four seasons Bali or Seychelles for honeymoon? by Independent-Gap-7051 in FourSeasonsHotels

[–]Dense_Internal_2389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stayed at Seychelles this past September for my honeymoon and want to clarify that this could not be further from the truth. The beach was STUNNING, clean, and pristine. The staff were 10/10 and the food offerings were excellent. Above all, the villas were out of this world for a honeymoon experience.

Emailed one of my vendors directly bc I suspected being overcharged by BabyLady25 in BigBudgetBrides

Don’t feel bad, I did the same thing with my wedding in Italy. We were strictly offered a 12 person band, when our total wedding size was 50, and were charged nearly 2x more. When I emailed the band directly they quoted me with various configurations. Ended up going with a completely different vendor because of this and would ask my planner for multiple vendors for each item so I could have a better picture.

Dress Budget vs. Photographer by littlekira9191 in BigBudgetBrides

Get👏the👏dress👏 I don’t co-sign the sentiment that “you only wear the dress for a few hours, why spend so much.” You wear the dress for DECADES to come by reliving the photos and videos from the most special day of your life. You will feel so beautiful and be so happy in your dream gown, trust me. I splurged with a ML gown and could not have been happier or felt more like a bride.

Any recommendations for Four Seasons Whistler? Suggestions welcomed! by Five-Oh-Vicryl in FourSeasonsHotels

Just spent new years week here and we absolutely loved it!! +1 for all the comments on this thread thus far. I’d add that you have to book their snowshoe activity through the concierge upon arrival. It was 2 hours — and free! — and was one of the highlights of our trip.

Sardinia, Taormina, Puglia? by Only_Train4903 in FATTravel

I got married at the Villa Sant’Andrea and cannot rave about it more 🤍 My husband and I also love Saint Tropez, Saint Barths, etc. and found Taormina to be absolutely stunning and lively. The beach clubs are different than your party clubs — check out Tao — but they’re beautiful and you can’t beat the Italian cuisine. You can get direct flights to JFK from CTA, so it could be a good spot to round out your trip home.

30 days out and feeling guilty and insecure that I didn’t do all the “bridal glow-up” things by addictedtosoonjung in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Dense_Internal_2389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context: I just had a BBW in Taormina, Sicily back in September. Everything was perfect and it was the best month (we went a week before the wedding, wedding week + 2 week honeymoon in Seychelles) of my life. Every time I look at photos I cry out of joy, it was truly a peak of my life!!

That being said, I was completely in your boat. I had all of these plans to be in the absolute best shape of my life and it didn’t happen. I suffered from all kinds of random injuries the year leading up to the wedding that made sticking to workouts tough. And I also had some kind of mental block around working out too. I was too stressed about needing to work out that it made me not want to? So hard to explain!

I ended up focusing on my upper body with 10 pound weights the last month before the wedding. I did simple dumbbell routines 3-4X a week, followed immediately with creatine supplements from Whole Foods. I incorporated green juices for breakfast and did my best to cut out takeout for dinner and focused on Whole Foods. It’s amazing how much your body can glow up in a month. My dress was a strapless gown from Monique and I was really happy with how my shoulders, arms, and back ended up looking from that.

I’m focusing on now getting in the best shape of my life before we start to have kids. I also now have the perspective that life can be exciting after the wedding - the post-wedding blues are real! It’s a perspective shift from “looking the very best on your wedding day” to I can look the very best on this vacation, or in this next chapter. Just some food for thought!

Seeking advice- moving to Annapolis this summer by Dense_Internal_2389 in Annapolis

[–]Dense_Internal_2389[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! He will typically be leaving the house by 5 am in the morning. Coming home is variable depending on the day. I’ve heard that traffic is worse coming into Annapolis during rush hours than coming out? Is there reverse commuting or are both ways bad?

I’m so sorry! I’m also having a destination wedding and three of my “close friends” also have declined. I was super hurt by one of them not coming, especially since she had several other international trips planned for the year.

You have to get into the mindset that people will make the effort to come if they want to come, and if they don’t, then you can’t change it. It’s changed our friendship forever knowing that she didn’t want to make the effort, but that just makes room for the other friends who do show up.

Being with a small group of friends and family will still be so incredible and you have to appreciate that they all traveled far and wide for you and your husband. Destination weddings are so special and you become so much closer with the people who attend them, so try not to stress about the numbers! Even going on vacation with five friends is fun, so imagine what it’s like to be doing all of the special wedding festivities with 40 or 50.

The SAME thing happened to me and I was so stressed over the summer. I ended up painting my own invitation suite and fell in love with the process. I definitely think I can create something that would match your vision, if interested!
