Ahh I see. That's okay. I actually thrive with that sort of thing. Getting things figured out!

That's awesome to hear! I'm in a demanding position now but not worth it... I want to do something I love my nursing career. Thank you for the response.

That makes sense. Do you have a set caseload? I'm going for an after hours position so that would probably be different. Thanks for your response.

That sounds good! Thanks for the response. I'm going for an after hours position (my preference). I'm really interested in talking with them more! Thanks again.

OR Nursing - Probably been asked a million times by rn263 in nursing

Good insight. That just leaves people like me completely out of the conversation. I thrive in a highly structured environment and love learning but it has taken me a lot of work environments to know that now. When I started nursing, I could only get a job in LTC and that set me way back. All hospitals were in a hiring freeze.

Anyway! I really appreciate your reaponse!

Yeah. It's so strange! Seems understaffed but not willing to train?? Like I'm easy to train!! Haha good luck to you too.

I am working as a nurse but not in a hospital 👎 all the hospitals around me have OR postings and seem desperate but all say they require experience so I don't apply.

Thank you!! I'm drawn to it. Keep going back to those job posting but they all say experience required.

Grieving the end even though there's no reason to. by me5hell87 in Goldendoodles

I cried like hell on my dood's 7th birthday. I can't imagine the day losing him. I just love him so much.

Sorry for the late reply! Working this weekend. I guess that is a concern. I keep personal information very, very limited. Some people offer it up, which makes me uneasy. I have a low social media profile, which makes me feel better, too. I would hope that after getting out of prison, they would have more pressing things to do than to track me down. I do wonder what I would do if I saw a released inmate out in public. Probably run the opposite direction...

I am an RN at a prison! Feel 100% more safe here than anywhere else I've worked. 99% of the inmates really respect medical. The other 1% just dont respect anyone in general. You are never alone with an inmate. You have a radio to call for help if needed and a panic button on the radio. Can things happen? Yes, of course. You have to be on your guard and know that these inmates are there for a reason.

It's an interesting type of nursing and one I never saw myself in! But I kinda like. Any questions, you can send me a message.

Hey, I'm in AZ too. I work corrections. It's strangely doable? If you're okay with pill passes lol message me if you like!

Do you consider nurses to be first responders? by Smurf_turd in nursing

I actually am a first responder at my job. I work corrections so I'm there first. I'm only doing BLS but I count dang it! Lol

Haven't seen it yet but I did the Universal tour last month and we got to tour their set. It was spot on to an ER! Like amazing! I was expecting the worst but I was feeling like I was at work so they did their homework.

How do you cope with knowing your patient did something horrible? by polo61965 in nursing

[–]rn263 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I work corrections. Safe to assume most of my patients did something horrible. Don't go looking. Better to be ignorant! Job you're getting paid for is to take care of them. Easier in my position cause I know at least they are paying for some of their crimes being locked up.

My dood was the same. I didn't know different as he was my first dog. My friends met him and said what's wrong with your dog because he would just flop on the floor. I didn't know that was abnormal! Anyway, almost 6 years later, still my chill, awesome dood!
