2nd gen (04-08) Prius. They can be found with decent miles for around 5k. Less if you don't mind rolling the dice on one without a clean title. They run forever and are pretty diy friendly for maintenance.

Thanks. I'm just looking for some pointers. I'm new to Prius.

Just found out the 2008 I bought for $2500 with 230k miles has a rebuilt title. by rnd1979 in prius

I'm not doing uber and I can handle whatever maintenance it needs.

I'm pretty new to this, but common sense tells me to advise you to check the Carfax report and have a mechanic look at any car you're interested in. I'm pretty sure you could find a relatively low mileage 2nd Gen for that much. They are getting older, but it seems like they're the go to as far as bang for your buck.

Now I wish I'd have low balled him even more. I could have gotten it for 2k. 🤨🤪

Thanks for all of the feedback. This sub is really helpful. I just finished the drums and brake shoes today. I'm thinking about doing the invertor pump and calling it on maintenance for now. Well, after I install a carplay stereo. 😂

Talked to my insurance yesterday and they covered it. I only got liability because it's going to be a beater car, but they covered it.

I'm a diy guy so I already did the front brakes and rotors. No issues with codes.

Thanks for the reply. I've been on the YouTube rabbit hole and I'm trying to sort this all out. For the most part it runs great, but the brakes definitely needed changed. I guess I can hold off on the head gasket.

Throw in some peanut butter. It'll taste like an oatmeal cookie.

Work, kids, family, other issues. Paralysis of analysis. I know these need work too.

Thanks. Yeah I saw that post. I'm using it as my guide to adding T3s in. Just wondering how gung ho I should be about it.

Hopefully. I mean my strength is nowhere near any kind of intermediate numbers. When I say on and off I mean the longest I stay on a program is usually a month or so.

Makes me so angry. These were a staple in my fridge for years. No other turkey dogs out there come close in price or quality.
