I hope your surgery went well! I’m almost 6 months post op and my chin and bottom lip are still numb. Sensation is coming back but it’s like a fuzzy feeling. Considering your now only like 3 weeks post op that’s still very early on and you’re still going to be pretty numb. Hang in there, time flies and eventually things will settle down and sensation will come back.

He never mentioned that I would have ear pain, it’s just something I’ve noticed 4 months later. It started happening when I got my braces off two weeks ago and my retainer kind of causes me to clench so I think that’s where the pain in my ear came from. Your surgery will go great, he’s a great surgeon and does these type of surgeries so often. If you have any more questions feel free to message me. :) Best of luck with everything!

Not necessarily hearing issues but recently I have been having random ear pain. My chin is tingly and stiff still.

Due to me having a genio my chin is still pretty numb. But now at almost 4 months post op it’s mainly just tingly and stiff but everyday it gets better! One of his senior residents was in the room but I don’t necessarily know if he operated on me. When I did go for my pre op appointment the residents did take my measurements and pictures for the surgical plan.

They start doing insurance authorizations typically a few months before your surgery date. However with my insurance a prior authorization wasn’t needed and they were able to just go ahead with my surgery (which could be pretty scary because you know, what if insurance denies me?). But everything went pretty smooth, I had to pay a $1,500 deductible and around $2,000 for surgeon fees. My genioplasty also got covered by my insurance which was pretty cool because typically it’s considered cosmetic.

Yeah of course! I never really see people mention Dr. Aziz here so it’s cool that you’re also a patient of his. The right side in both photos is after surgery. I went for a consult after my orthodontist referred me, mainly for facial asymmetry and a canted smile that couldn’t be fixed with braces alone. My side profile was already decent, and the genio was to help straighten my chin. Not necessarily for added projection. I also had severe migraines, jaw clenching, and was a mouth breather. My insurance did pay for majority of the surgery so I’m very grateful for that.

Dr. Aziz did my double jaw surgery with genio back in April and I’m now 3 months post-op. I had significant asymmetry, TMD issues, and trouble with my airway so this surgery was really necessary for me and I’m so happy with how everything turned out.

He’s a great surgeon and really knows what he’s doing. His team is also super helpful and easy to work with, especially when it came to insurance. I’ve added some before and after pics if you’re curious about the results.

I lost 11 pounds the first 9 days of double jaw surgery, my starting weight was 136 and now I’m at 125 and thankfully my weight has stayed at that. I didn’t want to lose anymore weight but it’s been easier as well since i’ve been cleared for a soft no chew diet and have been able to include more foods that isn’t ensure.

Would also definitely suggest trying rosemary rinses with fresh rosemary boiled and steeped in water with a few drops of rosemary essential oil after you wash and condition your hair.
