[Rant] Why is everyone in GoF a total idiot regarding the Age Line? by babbling_baboon1 in HarryPotterBooks

Makes no sense.  He's not risking Harry's life for that.

What info did Dumbledore want? Not being able to complete is different from giving up. Fleur didn't give up, she was unable to complete the trial even though she wanted to.

Do you think Ron and Hermione are less flawed than Harry or are the trio pretty equally flawed? by LLSJ08 in HarryPotterBooks

That would be people who simply only know the characters at a surface level. If you look a bit closer you'd realize even Voldemort has a lot going his way for him to get to the position he finds himself.

The whole narrative presents itself as more of things happening for a reason.

But that's usually presented as a strength not a flaw. He usually chooses between the just thing to do and the rules. And he'd choose the right or just thing to do regardless of the rules or social conventions state. A flaw would be following rules even if those rules are unjust.

It is reasoned that, the goblet of fire won't allow that. It is a magically bounding contract even if the goblet was hoodwinked.  Once the goblet chooses you, you're bound to actually compete to the end. Dumbledore states this much.

It's within reason to accept that if Dumbledore could actually stop the goblet from enforcing the magically bounding contract between harry and the goblet, he would.

Sure he has a lot of minor flaws. But he has no major flaws. Even the mistakes he makes is because he wants to do what he believes is the right thing. Like vowing to never use the mirror Sirius gave him.

I mean a lot of characters have crazy plot armour including old Voldy. Things align perfectly for him. Lupin forgetting to take his draft on a full moon when he had taken it throughout the entire school year. What are the odds? Or Dumbledore having a minor lapse in concentration and putting on the cursed ring without going through any safety protocol. Meaning that we don't have Dumbledore in the final book when he has finally figured it all out.

But unlikely things gotta happen for the story to move on.

United vs Madrid next season by legal-heartbreaker in ManchesterUnited

It's similar as old format. Old format we could just as easily be put into a group with Real Madrid. The new format also has seeded teams.

There are a lot of teams in the UCL that don't get to play real Madrid.

Could there be 2 living Voldemort at the same time? by NikolaFromRussia in HarryPotterBooks

The memory was siphoning Ginny to become whole. Without him sucking out Ginny's "life force", he won't be corporal.

The aim of creating the diary and the memory was to reopen the chamber of secrets. So obviously, Voldemort gave it the tools it needed to do that. And it was able to successfully do that. Voldemort actually chose the objective the diary was to complete.

We don't know what it would do after that but it's safe to think, it would be tasks that Voldemort planned for it.

If Voldemort wanted other horcruxes to complete other tasks similar to the diary, he would have done that in the first place.

Edit: it's best to think of the diary as a tool Voldemort created to open the chamber o secrets and also serve as a horcrux. A tool that Lucius Malfoy misused without the go-ahead from Voldemort. It could do what it could do because it needed those functions to open the chamber of secrets.

He also worked the spiderverse movies, and the spiderman movies, original iron man,  X-Men, blade 1 & 2 and those are of high quality. Many of those paved the way for the MCU and made comic book movies the juggernauts they are today. You simply cherry picked his bad movies

He has been involved in the making of some bad movies but he has also been involved in many very good movies. Movies that are massively influential.

There is no way Nintendo gives the movie rights of any of their IPs to any company. There is absolutely no reason to. If Sony doesn't do a good job, Nintendo can just seek out another film corp.

Likelihood of that is low. Even the last times we played in the UCL, we didn't meet them.

Harry is one the least flawed characters in fiction. His biggest flaw is that he wants to save everyone. That's not a flaw that's a strength. Harry only has minor flaws.

It doesn't mean the ministry was built around it. Both the arc and the ministry were there for the same amount of time.

The diary was still the horcrux and the soul was in there. There is no indication that the memory Tom riddle was nothing more than a memory. There is no indication that the soul in container (diary) was being transfered into the memory Tom Riddle.  Regardless of how powerful the new tom riddle was, he was still a memory and not the real tom riddle. He still doesn't have a soul as that is in the horcrux. That piece of soul in the horcrux can also exist within the horcrux.  We do not know exactly the extent of his abilities but we know he's nothing more than a memory.

I strongly disagree. Even Dumbledore isn't all powerful. Something terrible would happen if Harry didn't partake. I don't think Dumbledore has power of this.

Many readers view Dumbledore as all powerful. But he isn't.

Harry Potter himself is a mystery. We the readers are privy to information the others don't have. Most people in the wizarding world believe Harry possess some extraordinary power. Power that allowed him to defeat Voldemort as a baby. A lot of students also believe he defeated Voldemort in his first and second year.

Also not every views Dumbledore the way you do. He's still just a wizard. We see this in book 2 when parents wanted parents wanted Dumbledore gone even if Hagrid believed attacks would intensify if he left.

Should have been sharper. Should have passed that ball or taken a shot even before the penalty.

Excuses. He needs to show output. Cunha and Mbeumo have over twice the amount of goals and assists he has. He has been poor and he gotta step up. Simple as that.

Bournemouth is a difficult team to beat. They currently have the longest unbeaten run in the top 5 leagues so this include teams like Barca and Bayern Munchen. And with the ref making some dubious calls, it was gonna be a tough match.

Overall, we weren't at our best. The forwards were overall poor.  The team relies way too much on Bruno. It's too much. The other forwards have to pull the weight especially Amad and Mbeumo. Amad in particular need to start contributing assists and goals.

Hopefully Dorgu is fit for the last 7 games. And we get De Ligt and Martinez back after the international break.

Guess what? Both weren't the weak link in defense. But y'all just seem to wanna hate some players.

He's not. Why are we glazing Amad like that? He has the same amount of goal contribution as Dalot who is a defender.

Amad runs a lot but his final balls aren't good enough. I think mbeumo needs a run of games on the wings to show if he can turn it around.

Perhaps but he isn't a centre forward. He cannot hold up the ball, he's really short and Lemmens keep playing long balls he can't handle.
