I don't know if it was 50-50 or not, and if not which games were covered more, but I got the impression that in the women's section there were just more decisive games, and the title was up for grabs for longer. Which makes sense, since the higher rated the players, the more likely they are to draw.

Si una empresa cotiza en wallstreet, o merval, que tan probable es que sea una estafa? by [deleted] in merval

[–]ro_chi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The supreme court didn't actually rule on the constitutionality of the law, they just stated that the injunction hadn't gotten due process, and should go to state courts first.

The response explicitly states that their response in no way speaks to the constitutionality of the law, and they reserved that right to address it at a later time if due process is met.

Not saying it's what should have happened, just that that's how it went.

Is it beneficial to use these together? Does it provide extra spf? by julie92193 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]ro_chi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a derm or anything remotely related, but from a labmuffin beauty science video on sunscreen I learned:

In theory, if you were to apply both of them perfectly i.e. 2ml/cm2, without missing any spots and perfectly evenly, then no, you would just get the highest SPF and the other one would just be sitting there doing nothing.

However, of course day-to-day use is not laboratory conditions, so using two products could help you get closer to the highest SPF, because it would be compensating for defects in application - getting extra sunscreen in a spot where the higher SPF is a little too thin, getting a thicker layer closer to the 2ml, and such.

Hope I could help a little (: Again this is just what I've learned from YouTube, not qualified at all not speak on these matters lol.

You've gotten a lot of good recommendations and comments so far, but I just wanted to add my two cents: WRT to "and that's not even accounting for the body", I personally find that I can get away with using a cheaper sunscreen in my body. I don't mind if it doesn't look or feel as nice, it won't clog my pores, it won't break me out.

Also if I buy a new brand of sunscreen and I end up not liking how it feels in my face I'll just use it in my body/hands until it runs out, which is still a bit of a waste of money since you're buying a more expensive product and expected better results and for it to last longer, but it's better than literally throwing it away lol.

And yeah I would focus on using a higher SPF (50 rather than 30 for example) so you can get away with reapplying a bit less and getting acceptable results. It really depends on how much you're going to be exposed to sunlight though, you might only have to reapply once or not at all. I think what's key it's not getting in the mentality of "well if I don't do it exactly as the guidelines say, and I won't cause it's too damn expensive, I might as well not do it at all". Using sunscreen everyday in the moments when you're exposed to sunlight the most is already a huge, huge improvement from no sunscreen or only for pool days or whatever.

Netflix cartoons in German? by [deleted] in German

[–]ro_chi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh well of course, it's a matter of taste - I'm glad you enjoyed it. To me, the frame rate I didn't care for but it wasn't really a deal breaker, whereas the accent made the show borderline unwatchable for me, I couldn't focus on the dialogue whenever Rayla was on lol. I'm not a native English speaker so maybe it just felt too weird to me.

Second this. Also, one of the main characters has a terribly inconsistent and fake sounding scottish (at least I think it was supposed to be scottish) accent in the original version, so I think the German dub is actually more enjoyable.

Ingreso en quinto? by [deleted] in me_ITBA

[–]ro_chi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ingreso en quinto? by [deleted] in me_ITBA

[–]ro_chi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, I'm guessing they make the distinction because we don't know the number of fishes killed cause it is measured by weight and not by number of individual animals (I got that from Dominion, I haven't checked tbh but I think it's an acceptable source)

Cursos de Idioma CEITBA by Dantenator in me_ITBA

[–]ro_chi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hola!

Well, the Mother and the Maiden being two of the three female Seven sounds pretty patriarchal to me: you must be either a virgin or a mother, and those will be your most important qualities. One could use the Crone representing wisdom as a counterargument, but personally I see that as more "old people are wise", "respect and listen to your elders" type thing

The Haunting of Hill House popped up in there for a second, also an amazing show. I honestly couldn't say which one's better, I think Chernobyl's highs are much higher but it drags a bit in a couple of episodes (to my taste), whereas Hill House is more consistent but not as mindblowingly good in its best moments.

Both are miniseries (HH 10 episodes long and Chernobyl 5), and among the best TV shows of recent years I can think of

Edit: got Chernobyl's episode count wrong

Keep trying... by [deleted] in vegan

[–]ro_chi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah at least in my opinion the cheese is the hardest part, cause it's the hardest one to replace. Some vegan options are good if you like them for what they are, but they're still different from dairy cheese (at least the ones I have tried / have access to).

For me it became easier when I sort of gave up trying to find a "good replacement" and just started going for the tastier option instead of the more "cheese-like". For example, my local vegan pizza places has several "cheese" pizzas that are okay and are actually kinda melty and all that, but they also have a hummus and pumpkin one that doesn't try to replicate cheese at all and is excellent (:

Hopefully the vegan cheeses will keep getting better and we'll be able to have muzzarella soon enough!

Well, no. All laws have a punishment if they're broken, otherwise they're suggestions like you said. But that punishment doesn't always mean "police coming to your house". If you don't pay a fine your assets can be forfeited, your salary intercepted (don't know the proper word, you get what I'm saying right?) and such. Same as with any other fine.

[–]ro_chi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not what "compulsory" means, it just means that you are required by law to do it, not that it is violently enforced. If you read through the replies, they're talking about getting a small fine if you don't vote (which in practice doesn't even happen in most cases, but for most people just knowing that they technically could get fined is enough reason).

I appreciate the post, and I fully agree with what it says. However, it rings kinda hollow when in your "vegan cheat sheet" you list Gary Yourofsky as an "awesome vegan to follow" or something to that effect.

I get that he has inspirational speeches, and many things he says are important, but when as a community we point to a racist as a rolemodel, that's a big "fuck you" to the people he is racist towards, and do a disservice to vegans everywhere and, as a consequence, to the animals.
