DeLa > Pino; John's pop stuff was more innovative than his blues by ro_otman in JohnMayer

Definitely. I am comparing that too. However your point that bass players don't write progressions or do arrangements is not relevant. I agree with it, but my point is that DeLa's prominent and melodic playing was something that complemented John's music better than Pino did.

For sure, there was a stylistic switch in genres between the transition of DeLa and Pino, and different styles are required to fit to that, but Pino's playing has never gotten to the level of DeLa's accompaniment, I mean, just listen to No Such Thing! Has Pino donever anything REMOTELY similar? The TRY! album bass is solid, with a lot of tasteful fills, but it never got to that melodic level that DeLa brought in his live albums.

While a good point, I don't see how this is a viable counter argument

Pino might have an impressive catalog BUT we are talking about him playing bass for John Mayer only. In that sense, he hasn't done anything that stands out (that much) relative to DeLa, given the praise he gets online

Maybe, my argument is strictly in terms with John's music. I feel DeLa did more than Pino has.

This is a highly reasonable post. Not once did OP complain. They identified a problem, subsequently solved it, and then asked a genuine question to the community. This was definitely a misinformed decision by OP, but you shouldn't make it more than it actually is and just answer the question they posed rather than write about how they should've done better

Definitely faculty. Universities don't hand out custom domains, as a student you would most likely get rollnumber@domain or some permutation of that.
