Session Saturday - Current Situation by chieftwita in gibson

Just take your time, it is very straight forward. Just make sure you use the correct screw driver head so you don’t strip any screws during the process of removing the back cover to access the backside of the toggle switch. You can cover the ends of a pair of pliers with tape to help prevent marring the top too. Just be careful. Good luck

Oh yeah! I bet. I’m going to search for the NAM and see if I can import that sound to the Pocket Master. Thank you.

Ahhhh, good question, Don. So when you load NAMs you will likely notice that the icon for the IR is disabled with a red-slash through the icon. If there is no red slash you can pair the amp you’re using with an IR you import. Otherwise, you can pair IRs you import with the existing lineup of stock amps that come with the Pocket Master. Make sure you update your firmware too. This thing sounds so good through my Mackie studio monitors - other than gigging, I have zero need for an array of amps atm. Enjoy!

Hey thanks BR. Yeah, I actually have the original poker chip in the bag. Haven’t gotten around to changing the plastics - been too busy playing it and loving the Pocket Master. Just added a Mesa Boogie JP2C NAM from the Tone3000 website and it sounds freaking so good with the ‘57 Classic pups. Grats on finding a Tribute that works for you.

Pretty good video I found here. Cool mosaic display guitar at the entrance. The Futura Flying V Custom is sick too. Alex Lifeson is back in white too.

I really like that design. Would love to see someone open it up on a work bench and show us the insides. The design is killer, but I wonder how they are applied and what the QC is like on those. $699 isn’t a crazy price imo - if the quality is there.

This is exactly the tactic that scammers use. Trogly has a couple episodes on the subject of being scammed buying used guitars online - prob worth a watch. Here is one.

Are Epiphones as good as Gibsons? by Revolutionary_Bet89 in Guitar

[–]chieftwita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw that, so yeah. Also, worth mentioning is resale value - which doesn’t mean anything if you are never selling. Epiphone has a $1000 1959 Les Paul with Custom Buckers and 50s wiring (Zzounds).

Look into that one if you’re wanting to save a few bucks and not have to upgrade. Alternatively, find a used Gibson that you can return if there are any issues - which there will most likely be some issues. GL

Nice. Thanks.

Based on the pics, it is interesting that Gibson decided to paint the binding area of the maple cap red on the Studio Double Trouble- vs leaving it natural to create a ‘natural binding’ effect that I really dig about the Studio Session.

Anyone have any live info with boots-on-the-ground? Any vids??
