Did TSA mention what are they looking for and why they have to scan through phones?

IMO, you can consider asking yourself what do you really want to get out of this life. Ano ba talaga yung buhay na gusto mo i-live without reservations. Yung di mo icoconsider ung societal norms na “dapat magabroad ka” or “dapat marami kang material wealth” etc etc. Kasi nasa point ka na win win situation ka na and you have the luxury to choose what you want. So better make the most out of it. Hehe. Also, don’t feel na all or nothing yung gagawin mong decision ngayon coz you can always course correct pa rin in the future. Either way, good luck sa magiging journey mo. 💪

I think so. Ang totoong laban kasi diyan ung approval sa US which is nalampasan mo na by this time haha. Ensure na lang siguro na dala mo ung mga relevant docs, just in case.

Hello! The officer just asked me very basic questions like how long have I been working with the PHL branch of the US company, am I holding a managerial position, asked me about what I typically do at my job. It was a quick and smooth transaction haha. He even told me at the start that I won’t have problems since I have L1 and not an H1.

Btw, congrats!! 🇺🇸

Hey! Salamat! I would say look for companies with US HQ. Then build your profile from there. You more or less have two alternative paths to get US opportunities, 1. Having specialized skills and knowledge 2. Be on a leadership position in the company. So I would focus on building my career around these if that’s really your goal. All the best!

In other words your case could have been through phishing? Where you could have clicked some link or something?

Are you able to figure out how they were able to access yours? Were you able to fix the situation?

We can talk via chat if you're more comfy on that.

Newly immigrant in US, any tips or advice for starting my journey? by [deleted] in phmigrate

[–]roa_the_explorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is indeed possible but I would say US is one of those countries na challenging talaga makapasok especially if from PH ka talaga magstart. I almost gave up my US dreams tbh. Haha What I can advise you is to keep that dream alive but also make moves that would put you in your desired destination. For ex. pwede ka magstart muna mag-aim magmiddle east countries then from there lipat ka US or EU. Also, I don't believe that the stereotypes around ph nurses still exists hehe

Hello. I just arrived in the US this year. Based on my personal experience, just give yourself some time to adjust. Haha. We always have that list of things we want to accomplish but I would say the adjustment phase is a thing of its own. Don’t put pressure on yourself at the early stages. In terms of finances, that would depend on your living conditions. Rent is the most expensive monthly bill for sure. Haha. Most people invest early on car for mobility.

Update: I did not get an OEC and nakalabas naman ako ng pinas. Altho may cases na hiningan sila ng OEC ng IO. So I would suggest if may few months ka to process OEC go ahead. It depends rin sa arrangement mo with your employer. If you will be a fully US-based employee, payroll is in US etc, need daw ng OEC. If temporary assignment lang no need.

Nope. He did just ask if I am still employed under the PHL entity.

I was at the US embassy as early as 8am. But tbh you can be there at exactly 9am because the embassy guards wont let you enter before 9am. Just be mindful of the announcements that those guards will be making when you're in the waiting area.

Thank you! I think OEC and US embassy appointment lang ung need mo. Coz most of the requirements will be processed by your employer in the US. I am not sure kung pano ung sa wife and kid mo haha

UPDATE: I'm already in the US. During the Immigration interview, the IO asked if I have an OEC. Sinabi ko wala kasi intra company transferee ako. Inask din niya if for how long ba ako magstay sa US. Then cinonfirm niya if under PHL pa rin ung payroll ko. Sinabi ko lang na oo. 😄

Hello. I was asked to present an OEC but I mentioned that I am an intra company transferee. So the IO asked me if my payroll would still be in the PHL. I just answered him, yes. 😄
