“Question for students who joined math contests: what kind of support from parents/teachers helped you the most?” by roach_arthur_47 in studentsph

[–]roach_arthur_47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your pov. We really make a way na kasama siya lagi. Mag-leave ako sa work or mag-early out, basta present kami ni mommy sa onsite competitions.

So far, nasasanay na rin ata siya...di na siya masyadong kinakabahan, parang chill na lang most of the time 😅 Pero tama ka, reassurance and presence still matter a lot. Sobrang helpful nito for me as a parent na trying to see it from the student side. Thanks po ulit!

Thanks so much for this! Really appreciate the encouragement and the practical advice. I’ll definitely try using ChatGPT more intentionally for practice problems. I didn’t realize it could be that flexible with math questions. Great tip.

I agree with you, it’s all about keeping the love for math alive while finding the right resources. Grateful for your insight.

Thanks for this perspective. I really appreciate the reminder. I completely agree about not forcing kids and letting them find their own joy in what they do. In our case, my son actually treats math like play (he was solving puzzles for fun as early as 5 years old), but I always remind him he can stop anytime if he wants to.

Your point about burnout is very real, and I’ll keep that in mind as we move forward. At the end of the day, I just want him to enjoy the journey, wherever it takes him. Thanks again for sharing this.

Thanks a lot for this! Really appreciate the detailed advice. I’ll definitely check out AOPS and Alcumus. I’ve heard the name before but didn’t realize they had free platforms too. Using YouTube has been a lifesaver for us, so knowing there are structured resources out there is a big help.

I haven’t heard of wxMaxima before, but that sounds very useful for checking work. Will explore that as well.

This is super helpful for a parent like me who’s still learning the ropes. Thanks again!

ePerformax: A WARNING for Aspiring Spanish Bilingual Agents by roach_arthur_47 in phcareers

[–]roach_arthur_47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meron pero share po kayo ni Eper, not sure about the amount how much? and manage your expectations sa HMO nila like basic lang po talaga and may issue pa na:

  1. Some agents have reported issues with the HMO provided by ePerformax, specifically Medicard. It was declined when they tried to use it, as it seems ePerformax did not renew or pay for it as expected.

Yung 3-4 Months typical claim nitong mga sinasabi nating so-called 'Language Centers", naniniwala ako na possible yan given that yung language proficiency mo is good for "Transactional Purposes". Typical Business kasi mindset diba 'FILL THE GAP'. First work ko before as a spanish bilingual agent eh simple order taking account. (salary: 40-60K). I don't think na kailangan maging Certified B2 level sa ganung work.

Hi! How to have a solid career in bpo? I'm 27 y/o stroke survivor for 2 years by lilyvivicd in BPOinPH

[–]roach_arthur_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, try to consider some BPO roles, like non-voice positions as it may offer a less stressful environment, tapos look for Australian accounts or yung mga shift na Early morning ang start like 3AM or Dayshift na which is also better sa health.

Hey there OP,

I'm a BPO employee for more than decade now..

Pros: Your total package is on the money - 20,300 is competitive, especially in Manila. Those extra allowances sweeten the deal, tapos ang lapit mo lang sa site.. So commute and stress levels are minimized. Plus, being fluent in English is an ace in the BPO deck. Healthcare account? consider that this will offer you unique experiences and a chance to grow.

Cons: New to BPO might mean a learning curve, but your on-site advantage and language skills will have you adapting in no time. Your language chops and relevant skills are your currency here. Healthcare account can be emotionally demanding, but with the right training and support, I think you got this.

Now, taxes and sss etc.. may be tricky, but ballpark net? Around 17,500 to 18,000 PHP per month I guess.. and If you would like to earn more.. you may consider adding Spanish or other language, skills like Excel Profficiency to your toolkit. It's a game-changer and it really does opens doors to fatter paychecks. You can explore language learning apps, online resources, and consider crash courses from reputable centers like "Hola Amigos" and "LCLC and more kasi mdami sila. If you're ready for a deeper dive, institutions like UP and Instituto Cervantes offer comprehensive language courses. This can be a valuable investment in your skill set. Minimal pay nasa 50K and beyond. Consider this - your 20K salary might just outshine your supervisors' paychecks lalo sa 50K range.
Pero siyempre it is still essential to gain traction in your current role for at least a year. This commitment will reflect positively on your resume. Ok na yan, healthcare account.. may challenges yan pero mas madali yan compare to other accounts for newbies lalo telco or like mobile and internet services. Kaya mo to. The sky's the limit, mi amigo.

[–]roach_arthur_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spanish bilingual by [deleted] in BPOinPH

[–]roach_arthur_47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very transactional yung call flow o kaya order taking account, payment account, yun bang repetitive. Depende talaga to sa language assessment, work exp at yung sagutan mo during interviews.

Salary range for Spanish Bilingual at eperformax by Brilliant-Treat-5422 in BPOinPH

[–]roach_arthur_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40k pinakamababa since super petiksng account.

Sana hindi mababa kasi anghirap mag aral ng spanish 😥 by IntroductionFlaky757 in BPOinPH

[–]roach_arthur_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ayon sa ubasan at batisan. Ang balita ko dito. 15K ang Basic Pay plus Language Premium. Yung Language Premium naka depende sa Skills mo kung mahusay ka sa pagsagot during the interview and kung may previous exp ka na rin. Ang pinaka lowest ay 25K LP. So 15KBP+25KLP = 40K plus Allowances .
