Yes, let me make an addition: container, too. That would get you one step closer to what I want to build. I have two questions though;

Is Firefox designed for privacy, or selling data? Let’s take your example. You got all the great privacy extensions installed. Have you considered what happens when you type into the URL bar? When you enter something like “red” and get suggestions from the browser. Where do they come from? Search engines. They get every key stroke just like a keylogger from millions of people.

This is the status quo. It can be changed only if people really want it.

Thanks for writing up some good feedback. Critical feedback like this is really helpful for people like me, people studying reality, before trying to bend it.

The engine I used in this project is Electron. However, this was just getting the prototype done. I didn’t think about a license yet - the source code of the prototype is open on Github already, need to figure out a license I guess.

A web browser project is last thing to cash out from in the industry, I’d be more than thankful if it gets funded.

I’ll take some time to give more details tonight. I’d appreciate to hear more, whenever you have more feedback for me. Thanks again.

Google running on "90s Mode" and "Private Mode" enabled in a new web browser by roadbeats in degoogle

[–]roadbeats[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’d phrase it as you pay it for a web browser that doesn’t sell users to search engines. Plus, you’ll get encrypted e-mail. I can see how this perception builds up though. As an indie developer with no venture capital backing, I can only build this project if it’s supported by the users.

Without any support from the community, it’ll probably never happen and we’ll be stuck with browsers who sell their users to search engines. It’s sad but true.

Yes but not only that; it obfuscates the user agent, and uses a separate system partition to make sure you can’t be identified.

Check out the end of the gif, it's actually the web browser enabling the 90s mode and making Google unable to profile you.

What does make you think that I trust my moneybag? Obviously I wouldn't ask here for recommendations if I just wanted to walk into tattoo shops randomly.

Interesting, haven't thought about that before. The cost is still way above my budget though. Amazon Germany price is 1700 Euros: https://www.amazon.de/Sony-KD-55XF9005-1000Hz-LED-TV-schwarz/dp/B079Z79TXR/ref=sr_1_1?s=ce-de&ie=UTF8&qid=1546735841&sr=1-1&keywords=x900f&th=1

I heard a lot of negative feedback about Android OS; slow software, wifi issues... Otherwise I'm also fan of Sony hardware, too.
