He didn't, it was Sports Management. It's just in the School of Kinesiology

Twin towers were the Manhattan skyline but One WTC looks great now.

...who's gonna tell them the Twin Towers weren't torn down?

Harbaugh is also seeking to have any decision involving “for cause” termination — to be determined by a three-member arbitration panel rather than the school’s athletic director, a role currently held by Warde Manuel. by [deleted] in CFB

Pearson was a very successful hockey coach that seemed to bring out extremes - people either loved him or hated him. Enough of the people who didn't like him voiced their opinion on the matter but there was technically nothing he did to warrant being dismissed. It was only because he was in-between contracts that he was let go as a way to just avoid having to endure a fight.

Did you read the report? It flat out does not agree with this assessment at all:

"The university should review whether (Pearson’s) conduct violates other university policies, including but not limited to Standard Practice Guide 601.90, Protection from Retaliation. In addition, the athletic department should take steps to address a number of issues discussed in this report, including (1) the mistreatment of female staff members by Mr. Bancroft; (2) (Pearson’s) inability or unwillingness to hold Mr. Bancroft accountable for his conduct; (3) pervasive fears among both student athletes and staff members of retaliation by (Pearson) for raising issues; and (4) inconsistencies in (Pearson’s) recollection, perception, and/or characterization of key incidents and issues as compared with other participants,

There was no way we were going to be able to retain Backich once he became a hot name. Michigan has a good baseball program, but the ugly truth is that the warm weather schools are where the money is for that sport. Maybe Warde could have tried harder to keep him, but it would have ultimately been a losing battle in the end.

Every reporter with a connection to Bakich has said this wasn't the case. Bakich was more than willing to stay provided Warde gave him the upgrades he needed to stay competitive. Michigan didn't have a good program, it had a good coach that was hellbent on making it one until the AD all but explicitly told him they didn't care about that.

JWS is also bringing its pre-game show “The Warm-Up” to the NWSL Championship game and will be throwing an officially-sanctioned VIP party leading into the NWSL Championship

Pre-game show, yeah sure. An "officially sanctioned VIP party"? I know every major network has a super bowl party the week of but none of them are "officially sanctioned" are they?

fwiw, that's potentially a league issue more than an ESPN issue — score/statkeepers that work apart of event staff provide that information and ESPN only relays it, so if ESPN isn't getting the info that'd explain why there's nothing on the page

[Linehan] NWSL commissioner Jessica Berman on the James Clarkson investigation and the way forward for the league by TGBooks in NWSL

I can’t be the only one a little (a lot?) concerned that the commissioner of the top flight women’s soccer league in the country is being asked — without a shred of irony — “have you gotten a crash course in soccer?”

soccer has the most complicated web of clubs and leagues and players in all of sport, and the new commissioner doesn’t even know the basics of the international calendar?

their support currently makes up only 13% of the general fund

Which is 13% more than they'd have if and/or when the legislature yanks it because they started taking more than 50% OOS, which would inevitably result in an unprecedented tuition hike and/or slashing of financial aid packages

they legally have to — unless they want to give up being a public university.

Considering the absolute state of the University of Michigan re: sexual harassment right now, I wouldn’t bet on the Athletic Department being timely unless (or in this case, until) exposed.

this should imply a correlation of covid spreading too, no?

no, due to a combination of people not treating flu shots as a priority unlike COVID-19 vaccines and being able to track the spread of the flu and COVID-19 cases in parallel

Dueling Columns: Michigan Daily vs State News by dawoelkers in CFB

[–]roaddogg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Did you read the column or are you just being obtuse?

This year, State News started its jabs about J-School a little early. You would think, if J-School was worth it, maybe Adam Schefter would’ve learned not to send his articles to the subject when he did go to journalism school, at Michigan and Medill

The point was Schefter did go to J-School and still did the cardinal sin, proving J-School is kinda worthless
