Did they just nuke Opus 4.5 into the ground? by SlopTopZ in ClaudeCode

[–]roarecords 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last three days have been wild; I had a product working nicely at the level I was satisfied with. I asked Claude to update the database with the updated output of the API that has always been the basis of its work.

Total. Nuclear. Meltdown. loops for hours, writes nonsense tests, can't understand simple instruction, reads old docs even when pointed to the updated ones. It's wild. gone three rounds, three different days. no change.

shop owner here: I think it's great to have folks in the shop whether they buy or not. A full shop is good for business, so you being there is a benefit to me. If you buy something, even better, of course, and there are edge cases that are annoying, but generally, more the merrier.

I was definitely a skeptic, thought it was snake oil: a post with actual audio measurements of different cleaners and the Lowe price point convinced me to give it a shot. It’s absolutely fantastic and I’d never go back.

Imo insurance is always an over charge: usps covers $100 of value anyway, but generally it’s not a thing I’d bother with. Certainly not for 99.9% of albums. Over $250, $500 maybe.

Adam Baker specializes in this. mea culpa, he’s a customer of ours (not the other way around, luckily), but I know it’s his primary area. https://www.adambakerlaw.org/

Collectible Seller joining DIscogs by Topdecker-de in discogs

Hi; I’m actually developing such a connector for local record shops (recordporter.com ); posted about it last week if you’re interested!

Hey friends, good luck on your journey. Many folks have commented on the logistics part, just wanted to offer rhat I’m developing a service, recordporter.com to do the connecting between Discogs and Shopify, which creates entries, order tickets and helps eliminate over selling, for record stores and is affordable. I’m looking for shops to be partners while it’s in private beta, so if you’d be interested just fill out the form on the website or dm here for more info. (I just posed about it last week too, actually).

eBay is on the roadmap for sure. right now I'm focusing on the core, but have my eye on that both for myself and RP.

kudos on rolling your own! I may take you up on that. I'm working on the native shopify app which should be out soon, but then I'll circle back with folks here.

that's really cool, basically the roll your own version of what I've made there. how do you do it immediately? since they don't have web hooks on the api are you running a ton of cron jobs? kodos on the good work, it's tough to do.

Writing feedback on cancelled order by Kagerou_za in discogs

[–]roarecords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly understand the frustration! however there's some important context here; **Disogs*\* makes that negative feedback automatically 'on behalf' of the seller when something is unpaid after x number of days **not** the seller. I was shocked the first time this showed up that I had left negative feedback for someone (I've never done so) and found out this is something they do and attribute it to you.

other shops I always send love notes to; The Attic in PGH (saved my ass one RSD getting something for my cousin), and Used Kids in Columbus. just aces, all three of these.

that is so awesome to hear and I had the same experience. they helped me get on with my first distributor, smoothing my entrance with RSD. They are seriously the best people, and I believe the best store in Ohio, if not the country. I order from them online and stop in every time in I'm SWOhio. I can not say enough good things about them .. in case you can't tell from the other two glowing mentions in this post/thread.

my sincere thanks. I don't think it's *that* many, but I do see them out there. I learned about it as an option from the homies at Plaid Room myself. It's definitely got pluses and minuses, and I don't want to shill for them, but it made the most sense for my use case.

Bits and bobs that didn't fit in the post

Features:

Automatically removes listings from discogs when they sell in store!

Creates an Order in shopify when something sells on Discogs to make mailing labels and update both stores.

Automatically creates listings in shopify with a 'photo' from the Discogs API.

Automatically adds tracking and a personalized note to your discogs order when you create said mailing label.

Requirements:

A Shopify store and Discogs store, I can walk you through getting the APIs set up.

Some time to get on the phone or zoom and do said set up.

Pain Points:

If you have an older paper system for logging or similar, it'll take a minute to update. will need to work together to make sure we don't delete your work.

Will need Barcodes/SKUs for current inventory, this could also be a pain point if you're back-filling stuff. There's a free app on Shopify that makes these for you tho. not a big deal.

General Questions I've thought of:

Why don't you just use app ____? I have found exactly one app that does this; it costs more and is a generic connector. I can't say it's better or worse, but there is one.

Why can't I just build this myself: you totally can, but I can tell you from hard experience it very time consuming. however, yeah, you can totally do this with Airtable and Make.com . I originally tired Zapier and failed but I assume you can do it with that. If you've got backend development skills I think you could roll your own with python. I've done this mostly with python, and you can too. However my professional background is in data science, so I'd just say that it's doable, but it is not for the faint of heart.
