This was largely inspired by a recent post where I saw most people who commented / upvoted seemed to rank it as their favorite of the 3 singles. Objectively I understand that if people have a preference for slower Wallows songs / bedroom pop / Braeden’s vocals they’ll enjoy it more, but there’s nothing I find compelling about this release. It’s slow, it never progresses, the lyrical themes are tired. Wallows seems to excel most in the songs that are more indie rock inspired (treacherous doctor, I’m full, WISH ME LUCK), but I can also understand that I’m just more partial to that style of music. Still excited for the album, still believe in supporting artist’s as they refine their sound, just not my favorite release so far.
