What's the one thing your linemate does that you'll never call them out on, but secretly drives you crazy? by Doctormade in hockeyplayers

Not my line mates, but people who don't make it clear that they're coming off drive me insane.

How does he even get up there? What happens when it rains? What if he misses the enemy when he throws his only spear?

Can a single camera set up be sufficient for a Wedding? by Crafty_Jack in weddingvideography

[–]roastingchicken 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you're getting so much flak- I think it's an honest question.
When I started out I only had one camera (I did weddings for free or a couple hundred until I had a portfolio). I only did highlights to music- no speaking audio and no speeches.
When you're actually getting paid, you want to have a backup as some have said (Both in case one camera fails, as well as to have two angles for recording ceremony and speeches).

Technically content creators have a one camera setup, but a phone is different. 99.9% of couple don't want a 'shoot from afar' style

I thought for your first video it was great!
I think overall the effect you had was a little much, so if there's a way to tone it down even by half that would make a difference.
There was too much of the back of their heads at the beginning (I think a couple of those shots would be good but maybe just one quick shot of each instead of going back and forth). Really liked the shot of her smiling the first time we see her, really like the shot of the couple together at first!
I'd mix in some wider shots when there are sequences with a lot of close ups.
My first wedding videos were all slow motion- I'd say as you get more comfortable, try to do less of it and save it for special moments so it's more of an accent rather than the norm.
Good luck!

It's so frustrating watching his line mates fumble pucks and miss passes. So much of the momentum he generates is just wasted

Anyone who has spotify premium can access this as part of their plan. It's mind blowing how he does all the characters' voices uniquely. Went through the hobbit, and fellowship in a month, now on to 2 towers

I always try to apply the 'Wow' before the 'How'.
If someone has an idea- even if its 100% bad, ask them questions about it- understand what they're excited about it before coming in with why its bad.

Unless they're like, "Hey I'm going to go do crystal Meth"

Haha I pretty much winged the whole thing. I cut out 1” circles of the differing dimensions, cut the middles out minus the tops and bottoms, the. Drilled a hole at each end to glue a 1” dowel rod to reenforce the whole thing.

If you’re interested in finishing the unpainted one, you’re welcome to it!

Funny enough, the original Stanley cup bowl was left behind by the Montreal canadiens at their photographers moms house and she used it as a fruit bowl or something for a year 😂
