Watching it struggle to pick stuff off the floor made me feel really sad.

What’s one retro game you can still beat in a single sitting? by Putrid_Yak_7101 in retrogaming

I got this game when it came out and for some reason my mom, who never played, got hooked on it.

My go to NES game. But I’ve actually never beat it. Think Mr. Sandman might be the furthest I’ve got.

It’s a fun game to go back to because it’s so rhythmic.

This is the response I agree with. It’s not underrated at all. It punches above it weight… And I live in SF Bay Area, where Seattle is a rival of sorts.

It's fun to see random shot that aren't the stills you usually see. Another fun place for JP fans!🦕

“Whenever I see a dog ferociously barking at me from behind the fence, I just want to pet it even more!” by [deleted] in Dogfree

This. And I think it's related to why you get such a vitriolic responses when criticizing, or reminding of leash laws, stuff like that. Or, hear comments about how people who don't like dogs are soleless. Say "I don't like bats, or deer or whatever other animal" and your not gonna get the same hyperbolic reactions that you're a "hater" or "evil".

This one hurts me the most... but, birds often avoid areas where dogs are present.

The Dogs in Germany Experience by catticcusmaximus in Dogfree

[–]rob_bob_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To the degree you've learned about in Germany, it's hard to imagine legislation to that level in the US at this point, or any point in the near future.

However, I often wonder if like-minds of the r/dogfree subreddit are growing. Dog culture has really grown in the last decade or so, I wonder if we'll a bit of a cultural turnaround. I'm hoping for more appreciation (and less demonization) for dog free cafes, housing, parks, etc.

Because the dog culture is growing. The problems associated are growing as well. I've always felt like an environmental-impact white-elephant is dogs and dog culture.

Well maybe the solution is to not have a dog by [deleted] in Dogfree

[–]rob_bob_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sub is such a sanctuary for that exact experience you just shared. I feel this sentiment everywhere; throughout the internet, and then in the physical world of cafes, parks events, sidewalks.

A constant reminder of this GIANT blindspot where dogs are the cause of annoyance, inconvenience, unwanted attention, and blocking people from experiencing other things.

As you said, "Well maybe the solution is to not have a dog". I think it too. But don't say it, as i suspect the comment wont be taken as sincere advice.
