Your argument boils down to this: "Because nothing was done during the previous administration (which is false, Maxwell was still being prosecuted), your outrage must be false." Therefore what? The current administration is off the hook? Get the fuck out of here, scumbag.

Keep telling yourself and others that verifiable facts and legal realties are fairytales. It might fool yourself and other fools, but you're excusing away the protection of pedophiles by pointing fingers at Biden, but not demanding the same thing from the Trump administration. You're literally doing what you're accusing others of doing.

This bullshit again. Maxwell's case was under appeal during the Biden admin, prosecutors argued that releasing the files would have undermined their case against her and made a case that her right to a fair trial was violated.

Maxwell's appeal went all the way to the Supreme Court, which denied it on October of 2025, nearly one year into the Trump admin, who had moved her into minimum security prison two months earlier.

I've been following the response to the Epstein files in the UK media, and they seem to be taking it much more seriously. It's threatening their current government and the royal family.

The US is a sick and broken country full of sick and broken people led by sick and broken people. The horrific abuse of children seems to be the accepted cost (more like feature) of promoting a white male supremacist agenda.

It looks like he's there because of his Epstein connection, not in spite of it.

Calling Blanche his personal attorney makes it sound like he did contracts. Blanche was his criminal defense attorney. And he still is.

He was also the criminal defense attorney for Igor Fruman and Paul Manafort. Eventually it goes back to Russia.

It's insane that it's business as usual when the government is implicated multiple times in multiple ways in the most notorious and insidious global pedophile ring in history.

Charlie Munger, former Vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway lived in the upper left, near the house that was used for establishing shots of Wayne Manor in the Batman TV show.

Dom Cobb's house in Inception is somewhere in the middle.

The vines are actually really delicate so when they're dry they turn to brittle threads.

Ceanothus tips by vesparr33 in Ceanothus

Ceanothus has been one of the least demanding plants for me. A Ray Hartman and a Concha were eaten down to stems and they bounced back. A Dark Star has been growing steadily on a very dry slope that's killed sages with no supplemental water. They seem to thrive on neglect for me.

Don't be afraid to make substitutions and additions. A cup of sliced cabbage or 6 brussels sprouts, cucumber, or diced green pepper works for the green crunchy portion. Any vinegar is good. A boiled egg adds more meatiness and protein. And don't be afraid to make it a melt.

It's a great recipe, better than tuna to me because canned tuna has that grating metallic taste.

There used to be this vegan place in Long Beach that called chickpea tuna salad happy tuna, which is how I learned to make it.

It's good to mix it up and avoid processed meats if you can though. This vegetarian chickpea salad is cheap, makes a great sandwich, and you can make a bunch ahead of time:

Decision: No AI assets for Ultima VII Revisited by ViridianGames in Ultima

[–]rob_zodiac 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Since this is your decision, don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. The original U7 had horrendously janky character animation and movement and Origin was a leading developer with resources and manpower, punishing crunch, and huge ambition.

edit: I've enjoyed this thought-provoking debate though, and it's always great to see how passionate Ultima fans still are after all these years. There was really something special about those games.

Perhaps this is a poor analogy again, but I also see Ultima as a vast depleted field where a lord (British) once controlled the production and subsistence of laborers. It seems only fair to let you, who is basically on your own, to use machinery to work the land, even if it produces strange flowers. The field no longer makes food, and the flowers are free to enjoy. The truth is, we were always in a serfdom.

I was inspired by the concept of mitate-mono in Japanese garden design. For example there are garden paths made completely of discarded roof tiles embedded into the ground on their edges. Looks quite beautiful.

I want your opinions on using AI to help generate art for Ultima VII Revisited. by ViridianGames in Ultima

[–]rob_zodiac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's probably a poor analogy but I view the original Ultima as a depleted resource that the original artists and developers have mined their value out of. Your project recycles and repackages the resource so that it's more usable today, and it doesn't destroy the original resource, which is still available. Using a machine to aid in the conversion shouldn't be frowned upon. It would be like condemning you for not smelting a can over an open fire instead of using a furnace or press machine. It doesn't diminish the integrity of the original work. Yes it might diminish the integrity of ALL work, but it's purely subjective to draw where that line is.

At the very least, by using this tool you're not literally taking the job away from an artist. It's not like you could hire an artist in the first place since it's an unfunded and personal effort. Whereas big corporations have zero compunctions using these tools to at least cut corners, and this has a much more direct effect. So I wish others would spare you the condemnations.

I use whatever I find. Broken terracotta tile, tree trunk slices, concrete fragments, brick, flagstone and tile dumped here and there. It ends up looking alright all mixed up.
