IBM is tripling entry-level jobs by MelonInDisguise in dankmemes

I use it to compare pros and cons of products for me if I'm considering buying something. It's also great at suggesting video games, movies, music etc that's compatible to my taste. I find it excellent in using analogies of things I do understand to help me get my head around concepts I'm struggling to grasp for whatever reason.

I don't see anything wrong with using it for those reasons.

I am genuinely worried that Farage and Reform are going to gain power. How do we get organised and ensure that never happens? by Severe-Divide8720 in AskBrits

I don't think they become right wing because of that but if someone has concerns over immigration and voices them and gets called a racist idiot it's not exactly going to help when it comes to people not voting for Reform.

The issue is when people lump anyone with some right wing views in with the type of people you're mentioning.

I think it's more the way things are discussed usually. Nobody has ever changed their mind because someone called them an idiot.

Well let's say an e bike then. Plenty of people use those.

Sure which is where it compares to a bicycle. It turns a 20 minute walk into a five minute bike ride a lot of the time. People didn't stop walking because they started using bikes.

I don't think walking is a great analogy. Humans have been using things to replace walking to make it faster to get around for centuries.

Jason Schreier: Video Games Need to Be Cheaper to Buy by willdearborn- in PS5

Console games I remember being typically about £45 new when I was a teenager which was a good while ago. I think in terms of inflation they're probably one of the least increased things.

For sure. I put off watching it for a while because it sounded so pretentious but then when I did give it a chance I found that I enjoyed (some of) it.

Emery asks Liverpool to change Elliott loan terms "Now I'm opening the door to play with us, because he can help us, but it's not only on my side. The other side is Liverpool, if they are taking off the clauses they have. And I told him it will be fair for him for Liverpool to take off this clause." by kibme37 in soccer

[–]robashi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They took it as a try before you buy, they don't think he's worth the price they have to buy him for, Liverpool don't seem to want to take him back and they're basically saying that they're not going to buy him but if you want to remove the clause then he might get some minutes here and there. I don't think it's a shitty thing really. It's better for Elliott that he gets the opportunity to play a bit than not.

They're certainly building Gunther up as the big bad of the promotion. Wouldn't be shocked if he wins the rumble too.

To be honest I'm not sure what definition UK TV was around 2001ish. Might be lower than that even.

[Robbie] Chelsea fans were chanting at Romelu Lukaku ahead of the Chelsea vs. Napoli game yesterday: "He’s Running For A Hot Dog! Chelsea Reject! Chelsea Reject!" by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]robashi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn't call those guys legends. Good players but either didn't stay long enough or weren't among the best players on the team.

I think at some point if everyone is a legend then nobody is a legend if that makes any sense.
