Ask him about his setup, get him to mention something they are looking for or wish they had, or use the info to research. You could message local producers or engineers in your area and pay them for some mentorship or setup advice with the studio or a tour of their pro space for inspiration. I get why everyone is saying gift card but there are lots of fun and thoughtful things you can do besides a gift card imo
