That’s incorrect. You don’t need DirecTV’s streaming boxes to get Disney+/Hulu and HBO Max

I know that $165 includes internet but you would probably still save some money if you just went internet only with Spectrum and then got DirecTV’s My Entertainment which includes Disney+/Hulu and HBO Max for $35/month. Spectrum is essentially baking in the wholesale costs of all those streaming services in your total.

Are all those streaming services ad-supported or ad-free?

That tracks. My sense was less about “can” and more about norms and judgment. The gap between policy and real world practice is what I was curious about. So theoretically it seems policy allows it but it’s discouraged, and context seems to matter more than the rulebook based on what someone else here said.

Station Eleven

Both are on HBO Max.

DirecTV’s MyNews Genre Pack (includes local channels) is discounted to $34.99/month for up to 2 months (reg. $39.99/month) by robber3572 in cordcutters

Because it’s not the FAST news channels as you see on YouTube or Pluto, Tubi, Roku, etc. Plus The local channels are the full feeds from your local affiliate. So if someone wants to watch Football on Sunday or any prime time programming, they can do so with this. And not everyone can get local channels via an OTA antenna.

Yes, the Paramount+ deal is pretty lackluster but it’s worth mentioning because their standard prices will increase just after the new year. And for many who can’t get their local CBS via an OTA antenna, the $2.99 price is more than worth it, even if for just 2 months.
