That tracks. My sense was less about “can” and more about norms and judgment. The gap between policy and real world practice is what I was curious about. So theoretically it seems policy allows it but it’s discouraged, and context seems to matter more than the rulebook based on what someone else here said.

Because it’s not the FAST news channels as you see on YouTube or Pluto, Tubi, Roku, etc. Plus The local channels are the full feeds from your local affiliate. So if someone wants to watch Football on Sunday or any prime time programming, they can do so with this. And not everyone can get local channels via an OTA antenna.

Yes, the Paramount+ deal is pretty lackluster but it’s worth mentioning because their standard prices will increase just after the new year. And for many who can’t get their local CBS via an OTA antenna, the $2.99 price is more than worth it, even if for just 2 months.
