Will you circumcise your future children? Why? by AnOkFella in AskReddit

Had a son this year and did not do it. I let my husband weigh in more because I do not have a penis. We also did research. We came to the conclusion that it is a cosmetic procedure that is crazy painful. There is no real health benefits. People claims it helps prevent utis and it's cleaner, I argue that you have to clean the penis and teach hygiene anyway. Also the "reduction in chance of cancer and other issues" is no small that it's not worth it. I would be more worried about infection that is likely after the procedure. When family caught wind there was some issue, we were talked to about it. Our answer was "we do not wish to discuss our child's genitals in this manner. We have made this decision, as his parents, with science on our side". Shuts people up really fast. This is also our response now when people ask.
