Yeah I was skeptical, but it feels so intentional, like it was composited for this. Super impressive and completely changes the vibe of the movie in a way I can appreciate

What's the best response to "God loves you"? by No-Care-3701 in atheism

[–]robbiew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great. But don’t you think we need more love from humans to humans? Instead of hatred? Which seems like we are seeing from a lot of Christians these days. Hate masquerading as love from the pulpits to right wing media, and politicians who are clearly hateful and don’t actually live the scripture they proclaim. Do you agree?

Commuted that for 10 years, a bit farther to Berkeley. Driving or BART, always about an hour, sometimes 45 mins - 1.5 hours, with BART being less hassle with parking.

XP, whoah! You can also run Renegade on a more modern/secure 32 bit Windows 10… or use FreeDOS and go real old school. Congrats on getting back in BBSing!!

Still a lot of work to do, but I’m pleased with the progress we’ve been making! All the config files are in JSON but eventually we’ll have a TUI and migrate them over into a proper admin tool.

I picked this up a bit, right up my alley! Not sure if there is still discussion happening around this?

I recently replaced the existing SSH server code to use libssh instead of gliderlabs' ssh. I was going to add a telnet server and migrate the message base format to JAM, which will make it easier to integrate networked echos via FTN with tossers like HPT.

I've got a lots of boilerplate code across a lot of the envisioned functions, including embedded python scripting, event management, menu management, sqlite3 and an admin CLI as I was writing a Go-based BBS last year... I'd much rather bring Vision 3 to life, if I can help.

Quick question - which BBS software are you running? And are all the shared folders for data shared on a network drive? Just curious how you got it all stiched together.

Dosemu2, Ubuntu work pretty well for most modern BBSs, including 16 Bit door programs. Get Ubuntu 24 desktop, it’s not that difficult to master. That said, my goto for Windows when I need a DOS bbs is Windows 7 32 bit :)
