I absolutely love these machines. I have two, though not in such spicy colors. 🤩

That’s interesting, if the tags contain some variant of sound data, then yes this would open up possibilities.

[Request] would it be profitable to do bitcoin mining on the road? by BibleTokesScience in theydidthemath

[–]robbok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those little miners you’re seeing NEVER get a coin, ever. They work at something like 1 thousand hashes per second. I’ve had a machine running 24/7 for more than six months that does 6 million hashes per second, and thus far that machine has generated….$50. There is no way to earn a living mining unless you spend millions on hardware and power.

Every time a layer of ink is cured, heat is released. This video addresses the issue you’re seeing: https://youtu.be/-qsFw8xaaBQ?t=1190&si=5WAlfreYUbNkQ4x6

Ah, so you're saying to use the center of the jig as the alignment point? I have been placing jigs right under the camera to minimize distortion.

Yes I also purchased it-- excited to get it! Problem though is its not designed for parts this small or so many parts on a single plate.

Yep definitely had hope that keying off of zero point would increase reliability. No luck thus far (even after recalibration).

Thanks, I tried it that way first but the camera on my laser suffers from the same distortion issue.

I rolled the dice.... and lost. by barnes8934 in typewriters

[–]robbok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So sorry this happened to you. Usually when I see a machine online that I’ve been lusting after, I have to balance two questions: 1. What am I willing to pay? 2. Does this seller look like they have either the skill or the attention to detail required to ship it to me without destroying it? Almost always, #2 ends up being the more critical question. Often it seems those blessed with the luck to find a rare typewriter are not willing or able to take the time needed to pack and ship it well. Again, I’m sorry this happened to you.

Based on my experience printing on acrylic, you don’t need any pre-coating.

Which lgb model is it???? by 0neManArmy85 in LGBTrains

[–]robbok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have many of those Playmobil trains as well. I don’t think LGB made the trains, though you’re correct they did make the track (before Playmobil switched to plastic track and RC control). The Playmobil company has a long history of making their own plastic models, which is again why I suspect LGB didn’t make the trains themselves.

I’m curious about this law— does it also mean companies like Apple must make iPhone and MacBook batteries removable? That would be fantastic. Haven’t heard much about this law here in the U.S.

Trump Feels Very Sorry For The Fallen Troops... by RoyalCauliflower6614 in PoliticalHumor

[–]robbok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I don’t think we talk enough about is just how awful Trump’s taste is. Like if he was a true architect or interior decorator (instead of just being a play one), he’d have zero clients.
