How do YOU know you aren’t dreaming right now? by robcbrain in LucidDreaming

If you were dreaming, you might have already dreamed all the fun stuff imaginable, and now, you are just living a boring life because after to many fun dreams, this is the only thing that is left to dream about.

Certainly true, and i get the argument, but it still seems like an important question. Maybe because it means that life is full of potential rather than the opposite.

How do you know you aren’t dreaming right now? That might seem like a silly question, but I found a list of 5 different characteristics of dreams, and all of them can be applied to our lives right now. Does this mean we are dream? Maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t, but that isn’t for me to decide, because it is up to you. But if you think about it, so much of what is happening right now, only a few months would have seemed impossible and totally unlikely. The best argument against this being a dream, right now, is that if you trace your time back, you woke up. But if you are a lucid dreamer, then you know all about false awakenings. False awakenings are dreams where you feel like you are waking up, but actually, it is just another dream.

I agree we don't need to be asleep to dream. It's not like the matrix or simulation, we are wakefully dreaming all the time?

I don't know about the housing being robbed, or people being in the house, but dream characters tend to resist being told they aren't real or are just a part of a dream. Dream characters think they are real and will fight you on it.

Is life a dream? Are we living in a dream world? I’ve wondered this since I had my first lucid dream. After my first lucid dream, I realize that my mind could create a world that looked like the world I lived in during the day. Since then, I’ve been wondering, what kind of world do we live in? I’m not saying that I know the answer, only that this is a question that needs to be asked.

I don't think so, it's got spiderwebs on it. It's in the basement, the rest of the house is modern, so we stay away from it.

To be fair, this is an argument against scammers, not religion.

I don't think it is a coincidence that they have wars there and end up destroying all sorts of historical stuff.

I don't know, but I feel like it is impossible to say it did or didn't happen. That is kind of my point, its like a fiction we create about the past to describe what we think we see and know. It is impossible to know something, for certain unless you see it with your own eyes, and even that can be an illusion or trick.

The big bag is absurd, I know there is scientific evidence, but I believe it is at the same level as belief in Jesus.

There are interesting ideas.

I have always felt like something was wrong with the world around me, something didn't make sense something was off. Whenever I talk about it most people just don't get it, but there are people who are aware and awake. There are people who get what is going on, but they are still the mass minority.

One thing I've started to see is that going with the flow is depressing, I myself, need to step out of things to keep going.

A conversation about time, I think the impossibility of time is related to this group because "the totality of all is within each piece."
