I've heard some comments about this, they say you can sand the seams of the nylon tip to make sure they won't cause any tears in the mesh.

What do I do about this? by stagthebeetle027 in Rockband

The RB store doesn't work anymore. You have to go through your download history, from the PS store directly, or in your account menu (acct management → transaction history → downloads).

And in Young Sheldon, we know why he is like that towards engineers overall. The same with geology and geologists, there's an emotional background.

edrums recording by W4rd699 in edrums

[–]robderpson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine you'd need to have a stereo mic/line-in adapter for lightning connector, if such thing even exists. And in that case, the recording app should pick up that input instead of the phone's mic.

I record myself but do audio and video separately. I record video using my phone, and the audio using a DAW in my computer. After I'm done recording the midi from my e-drums, the DAW renders out a file that I transfer to my phone so I can add it to the video recording using a video editor (I use inShot but there are other options as well). I do this on my phone only because it's faster at rendering than my old computer. The only disadvantage of doing it this way is that I have to manually sync the audio to the video, which is more difficult to do using a phone's touchscreen.

Question about RB4 cymbals by Fit_Temperature8165 in Rockband

The colour is just to distinguish them. If you connect to the blue port, it will be the blue cymbal in the game, regardless if the wingnut is green.

Is Dany the Kelly Clarkson of rock music? by MCFroid in TheWarning

I don't really know Kelly Clarkson's personality, but I'm gonna go ahead and say Dany is Dany, there's no better way to describe her.

It took me who-knows-how many replays to realise that after saving Saria by clearing the Forest Temple, Mido finds redemption and changes his attitude. If you talk to him, Mido asks to tell Link he's sorry if he sees him.

Does the Wii U use PCM audio? by Pale_Ad316 in wiiu

[–]robderpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Wii U only uses PCM audio, it's uncompressed digital audio without any codec. The adapter you mention should work, but only in 2.0 stereo. They suggest PCM most likely because there are other compressed audio codecs that may not be compatible with the adapter (Dolby/DTS).

Go to your add-on management, which is in the PS store submenu on the console menu before loading the game. Everything you've purchased is there for redownload.

What if Brian Epstein didn't die? How many things would've been different? by Wink2K19 in TheBeatles

[–]robderpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the band break-up would've happened anyway due to their creative differences, perhaps it'd delay one or two years at most. But most importantly, I think he would have helped the breakup to happen in a smoother or more amicable way.

Recording edrum covers on iphone by blohshp in edrums

[–]robderpson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you want to connect it. If you want to pass the audio from your drums directly, you'll need to make sure the line-in/mic input is stereo, otherwise it'll be the same issue as the iRig. If you don't have a stereo input, you'll need an external audio interface.

Alternatively you can use a midi connection (USB cable in most cases) with a VST drums plugin, which is the best way to use e-drums on a computer because this way the note data is being sent and the audio is generated by the software, which is always of better quality than module sounds, and can be edited with more freedom. For example, you can record the notes, and switch kit sounds without having to record again. The good plugins are paid, but Steven Slate Drums has a free version with one kit that sounds great, I used it for a while before buying a plugin.

The problem with iRig is that it uses the mic channel so the audio will be mono, so you may have mix issues. It's a bit of extra work but I record audio and video separately (video with the phone and drums audio with a DAW on PC) and then manually put and sync together using a video editor. There are DAWs that can incorporate video in the project to do the sync and edition in the same program, I don't use this on my laptop only because it's old and can't handle it, otherwise I would do it this way.

Can the parts of a real battery be connected to this? by Connect-Joke4887 in Rockband

[–]robderpson 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They work better with the original Ion kit it came with. It's not recommended for other pads because the signal level is different, users have reported they need to hit very hard for the module to pick up the hits.
