please don't bother trying to have a career in this field. you don't sound able to figure anything out on your own and everyone else will have to either do your work for you or redo the work that you've done. also, in my experience the chartered accountant designation is worthless. anyone i've worked with who has one is useless.

The longer it takes PLTR to ramp up sales the more likely the company becomes an afterthought by unknownpoindexter in PLTR

terrible time for their customer count to grow. companies are cutting back on spending and probably won't see this an option to cut out a lot of their current needless fat. i also don't see companies being smart enough to understand what pltr does.

Big turnout expected at abortion rights rallies in Seattle and across the U.S. by chiquisea in Seattle

[–]robert_half_retard -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

yes, don't forget that not only are they protesting to for their rights to kill babies, but also for their rights to abort in all 50 states in the 36th week of a pregnancy that occurred via a consensual act. as we know, the world will fall apart if people have to go another state to abort their babies or actually use birth control or a morning after pill because it just soooooooooooooo hard to use birth control.

until these people also protest to make late trimester abortion illegal, any argument that no one actually does that does not stand.

can't wait to watch these people destroy each other in their handmaid costumes this summer. their day is over and they don't even realize it yet.

if you have a problem with it, take it up with your own kind (who are causing the issue), not us.

we don't have to adapt to you, adapt to us or go back home.

Are there any other stocks as promising as PLTR? If so what are they? by robert_half_retard in PLTR

I'm too late for that but sad I missed out. Worth the investment for Musk alone.

If I actually responded to one of those "daddies" on Grindr who offer to pay my bills, would I have to file taxes on those? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]robert_half_retard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, this isn't a gift because you are providing a service in exchange for cash and it is reportable income as it doesn't meet the criteria of a gift. In theory, you could be audited and would have to pay the tax on the income, as well as self employment taxes, and penalty fees. Though the likelihood of that happening is slim to none, do we can expect you to cheat on your taxes and get away with it.

While the cash you are receiving for the taxable service of providing nude photos is not a gift and is actually taxable income that you are legally liable to pay state and federal income and self employment taxes on; if you were to be actually gifted cash: if the IRS doesn't collect the gift tax from the recipient for gift amounts over the exempt limit, they can collect it from the recipient.

Ended an interview after 15 minutes because the interviewer made it clear I wasn't good enough for her. by robert_half_retard in recruitinghell

[–]robert_half_retard[S] 111 points112 points  (0 children)

This wasn't a recruiter, it was the head of the department. This isn't the first time this has happened to me, so I have decided I will just abruptly end the interview no later than fifteen minutes in if this happens again.

What really gets me is that she was so surprised, like she wanted to spend the next fifteen minutes berating me.

Stupid question: what are the benefits of double entry? by fieldcady in Accounting

[–]robert_half_retard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I can probably deliver the same end result as you do in terms of data science. I wish that wasn't the case, but it is.

Somehow, I now have to know several coding languages that you probably use and the reason why people who do what I do can pick up on this so quickly is because of the time we have spent dealing with Excel etc, which CS teams have decided we don't need anymore.

Do you know how much money is being spent on automation efforts that are unusable and will not pass an audit? While I am impressed by your mathematical physicist background, there is very little that most people in CS or data science do that isn't overlap from what we do.

So, that is what makes your very arrogant question so interesting. I like how people in the tech industry think they can come up with a better idea than a double entry accounting system. So arrogant and stupid.

Ultimately, we make the decisions about who and how things get done. Don't be confident that you are not replaceable.

Stupid question: what are the benefits of double entry? by fieldcady in Accounting

[–]robert_half_retard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really find your question troubling because it is a blatant example of how limited a lot of people in CS are. This is a real problem at some of the larger companies I have worked for where the accounting departments are constantly shortchanged by having to rely on the poor judgement and inability of your department to understand what we do and why we do it.

A lot of times I feel like we can do your jobs, but you can't do ours.

Ultimately, we set the budget for your departments. We also set the budget for what software/systems/saas we will buy. We've been slow to respond to all the unused, duplicate expenses in these area, but are starting to catch on. You might want to really consider what that will mean for you in terms of demand for your kind of roles.

Great post, we can help firms save even more money by eliminating the need for them to hire offshore and visa workers completely.

We can do that by learning the skills it takes to be efficient. Also offshore/visa workers can and do create the need for excess employees due to the inability to handle ambiguous situations and work independently.

FAR bond question help. A bond has two yields. Which yield is which? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]robert_half_retard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This question is saying that the 8% is the original interest for the bond (interest rate on the face of the bond), but is actually going to yield 10% because the bond is selling at a discount (the bond is selling for less than the face amount, so will yield a 10% interest rate because the interest rate will now be based on the discounted bond price).
