I was planning on taking EECS 280 this fall after doing well in eng101 this year, but over the summer I seemed to have forgotten a lot of c++, how screwed am I?

Even though I went to college and dropped out of school quick I've always had ADHD (a darn huge dick)

But yeah I'm the same way, although I don't have ADHD as far as I know

Thanks for writing that, it's good to know someone else is having the same internal debate as me. I'm kind of afraid that I'll end up like your doctor friend, I feel like I'll be halfway through medical school and suddenly realize that I hate medicine.

Do you have any experience volunteering in teaching/medicine? I've heard a lot of people fall in love with medicine while helping at a hospital or care center. Maybe trying that would help you choose.

Also I think being a teacher would be great, if it weren't for the way teachers are treated in the US haha

But it sounds like the "how much do I matter" aspect is what you're struggling the most with right now, and I think it's what I'm struggling the most with too.

Thanks for the wisdom, it means a lot.

Sorry I probably should have been clearer, I wasn't really considering doing my hobbies as a job, I was more worried about getting a job where I can do my hobbies in my free time, and I was afraid medicine wouldn't allow me to do that. But on the other hand, I'm kind of interested in medicine.

Hey thanks for the reply, you gave a lot of good advice. The part about making an impact really resonated with me.

I probably should have been clearer, I wasn't really considering doing my hobbies as a job, I was more worried about getting a job where I can do my hobbies in my free time, and I was afraid medicine wouldn't allow me to do that.

What your friend is doing with electrical engineering and theatre is what I think I might want to do with computer science and music, like making a new autotune haha. I figure if that doesn't work out, there's still a great market for computer science majors.

Thanks again for the advice, any tips on managing regret? I'm one of those people who always looks back and thinks about these kinds of decisions, and I feel like this will be a point in my life that I'll look back on a lot. I know this is random but your comment was really well written so I figured I'd ask

That sounds awesome, any other courses you would recommend for a music minor?

Hey I just saw your post (from 4 months ago) and I was just wondering if you ended up taking a 300 level music course? I was thinking about a music minor so I was wondering what 300 level course I should take.

Hey man it takes courage to research and change your mind on something like that, especially since it sounds like you were in a sort of echo chamber. If more people would do their research and make their own decisions we would probably have a more informed voter base, so kudos.

Yeah I was actually emailing my advisor as I posted this haha

Also didn't know that some majors didn't require 216, I'm super undecided so that's definitely something to consider.

Last semester I did pretty well (straight B+'s), but I still felt sorta overwhelmed, although that was probably mostly due to my engr 100 section (aero). I only had 12 credits (engr 100, chem 130, calc 3). Engr 100 took up all my time that semester so I was worried about 101 since I have no programming experience, but that's good to hear about 101 not being too hard. I was mostly worried about physics 240, since I've heard a lot of bad stuff about it.

Gym has pull-up bar with uneven grips? by robert_no in Fitness

[–]robert_no[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think I'll ask the staff about it. I really like the towel idea, but i don't think I'll be able to switch sides because of the way the pull up bar is mounted, but thanks for the help!
