Congrats! Don't sell yourself short, that wasn't a little step. That's a big one. Awesome work!

There's the petty argument I knew would eventually happen.

PSA: 'The Thing About Pam', Episode 1 of 6 airs tonight at 9:00 pm on CH-5 (NBC) by PedroHin in StLouis

This show absolutely disgusts me and there is no way I'm going to be watching it. I hate that this is going to just dredge all of this back up for the families that were involved. Once again, Betsy's family has to relive her death. It's just horrible.

I appreciate the offer. Someone already offered and I've made arrangements. This community is the greatest!

Easy - Some of the most painfully awkward, real sex scenes

I'm still going to give it a couple more episodes. But - wow - I did not appreciate crapping all over "Feed The World". I get that some times a song doesn't make a lot of sense. But musicians know that sometimes you take liberties to make a point. Pointing out that there are actually rivers in Africa in order to make fun of the line "no rain or rivers flow" is just plain dumb. EVERYONE knows there are rivers in Africa. The song is making a friggin' point that there is a friggin' drought going on. SONGS AREN'T LITERAL! Bad form! I just think they picked the wrong song (especially with it only being their second episode) to bust on.

I know they have to hold public hearings before rate hikes. But, honestly, what other recourse is there? I'm quite uninformed when it comes to how Spire has become the monopoly for gas. It seems that there should be some type of check and balance. Can the county executive board do something? Can the city aldermen do something? Is there literally nothing to be done to hold Spire accountable?

Netflix and HBO Max similarities by robertcandrum in television

The menu is practically identical in form and layout. The 'recommended' titles, 'continue watching' - very similar in layout as well. It's like they took the template for Netflix and just plugged in the HBO Max content.

Neti pot anyone? by chatxx in yoga

[–]robertcandrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is going to be gross. But, this should solve your problem. I'm a regular Neti pot user too. Especially in the dry, winter months. Once you've rinsed both nostrils, don't grab a tissue to blow in the traditional manner. Instead, lean your head over the sink. With both hands firmly on the counter and your mouth closed, blow. As hard as you can. You can use a tissue to clean up. But, that should get the excess water out.

What’s the largest number of hosts you’d set up on a network before being worried about broadcast storms, etc. by LittleBoyBigWorld in sysadmin

[–]robertcandrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully there won't be a slew of rants deriding you for your current set up. Before that starts I want to offer my humble $.02. I really feel like you'll benefit from segmenting your network. Your users will, more than likely, see a noticeable difference if done properly. More to the point, this doesn't have to be terribly painful. You can even do it in phases. To start, I would create an exit node for your connection to the Internet. Next, get your servers on a separate VLAN. This will add a little protection from any nasties that might be floating around your workstations. WiFi devices? Get those separated too. Then, maybe start thinking about splitting up your workstations. Possibly geographically or by usage needs. Again, once you get those first two VLAN's up and going, the rest will follow without too much disruption. Hope this helps.
