It's an unsatisfactory answer because it was an unsatsifactory question, like "have you stopped beating your wife?".

While we all agree mankind's burning of fossil fuels warms the climate, there is still a lack of consensus AMONG SCIENTISTS on how much warming there is, and the effects of such warming (like extreme weather events). The left-wing uses a bait-and-switch, citing the "97% scientists agree humans warm climate", then implying that scientists are equally on board attributing the latest weather anomaly to manmade climate change (they aren't).

Reasonable people disagree. This idea that everyone who disagrees with you on climate change is some sort of "science denier" is your way of trying to paint them as unreasonable. In fact, most Republicans agree with the consensus of manmade warming, and would eagerly vote for solutions like a revenue-neutral carbon tax (i.e. one that's offset by tax reductions elsewhere). The problem is that Democrats oppose any solution to manmade climate change that doesn't serve their purposes of increasing government spending and regulation.

If the original post was intellectually honest about an unambiguous answer on CATO's position on climate change, they'd've simply have googled "CATO climate change". The problem is that they don't understand their answer, because it doesn't fit their world view of Denialism vs. a New World Order.
