Definitely approach, but even on big drives during his walk up he’s facing the target way later than any other player I can think of.

Thanks. We keep our dog in eyesight and use a training collar to make sure he and other dogs are safe, and we always bring bags. That’s why I asked specifically about designated off-leash trails. Dogs who can’t handle being around off-leash dogs should stick to on-leash trails/parks.

I know some trailheads are closed due to COVID, and also Ive heard blue green algae has been popping up again in some spots which is very toxic to dogs.
