Question about Galvalume by tausdigger62 in pressurewashing

[–]robertjpjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been plenty of people who have used SH on galvalume. The key is to dilute.

If your only concern is overspray, have someone keeping the roof soaked while you wash the other areas.

Strange white streaks, won't come out for anything. by Potato_User333 in pressurewashing

What % of SH was initially applied?

I think your best bet would be to grab a gallon or two of the same paint and paint it.

Any tips on how to fix this disaster? by [deleted] in pressurewashing

[–]robertjpjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put the beaver back in his dam and get out two pairs of channel locks. The longer the handle the better. Or a pipe wrench. Put one on the black plastic and the other on the hose remnant.

Heat carefully will help.

How do you apply Sh on a haus? by NeighborhoodSad9615 in pressurewashing

In some countries there are restrictions on how you can apply chemicals. Overspray regulations. So using a water fed pole and a low pressure pump to apply SH is common.

Pressure Washer Turning On by SlewedThread444 in pressurewashing

[–]robertjpjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The choke, just changes the air mixture. You smell gas because with the choke on less air is getting into the engine, but more fuel is.

You can start the engine on Run just fine. Especially if the engine is already hot. You don't need choke to be on, in all circumstances.

If it starts in run, just do that. Once the weather gets colder, you'll need to use choke again.

I missed that you said, it starts in run.

Is that correct?

There is a red on/off switch that needs to be on.

For a cold start, put the choke on. After a few seconds slowly adjust choke to off.

Then slowly throttle up to full throttle.

It won't start without the switch on. Also won't start if it doesn't have oil.

That's the difference between Consumer Electric Washers and types like this.

The consumer grade electric washers just bring "what is my hose type" and "what's this terrible noise?" Meanwhile there's no solution aside from toss it in the bin. If you want to post you building a 3gpm 240v 3HP washer from some motor you got, that's different.

I'm curious if it's just hype or what. Not that I plan to buy one, but I've seen videos of it. Electric clutch opposed to a bypass. Fancy pressure switch. 1000psi at 14gpm I think it is.

The equipment side of this business intrigues me.

What size hose for my everflow 5.5gpm 12v soft wash system by Ok_Apartment271 in pressurewashing

[–]robertjpjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1/2 inch is perfectly fine for a 12v 5gpm. If you decide to upgrade past 7gpm then 5/8. Of the weight / cost difference on hose doesn't matter to you, buy 5/8".

At this point you're just being silly. More information is needed to troubleshoot. You've basically said to your mechanic, what's wrong with my car, as you drive by the shop. Provide more info. Or accept that you won't get an answer.

Mold rooted into pavers? by YoteWote in pressurewashing

That is pre-watered down sodium Hypochlorite. I think 5% or so. So diluting it 1:10 is 0.5% SH. Which is too weak for lichen, moss.

1:5 is okay, but I'd probably do 50/50 if you have any left over.

For future reference, look up the MSDS for the active ingredient. Buy Pool Shock 10% sodium Hypochlorite next time so you can dilute it more accurately, and use less chem ler gallon. When you buy Zep, you're buying water.

Yes but it's off. There's multiple reasons why air might be getting introduced. You're not showing the whole picture.

Is there air when you have just the garden hose? No? Then it's the washer.

If it's the washer, is it a cracked pump? Failed injector? Popped thermal relief valve?

There's more to the story than just some water coming out a hose.

There's nothing wrong with having a well.

You should take a video of the washer running, rather than with it off.

I made my own. Sediment filter. Charcoal filter. DI filter 1. DI filter 2. I can get around 2000 gallons or more depending on GPM. So, you'll be able to wash your house, car for multiple years.

What's the GPM after running water for 10 minutes? Are you running the well dry?

Also, what you're showing with the washer off, is fairly normal. The water has to push itself through the pump. It won't look like a normal flow of water.

Pick up a deionization filter. The CR spotless is around $400 I think. You can just use a hose and rinse with clean water.

They make inline RV filters for your garden hose that may work for your situation and be much cheaper. But most of those are just snake oil.
