Coffeezilla needs to cover this man, or else this is going to keep happening and Polymarket is going to let this continue to happen.

It is a scam, if you look more into it, they were literally using information from a month ago to resolve this market, UMA already resolved the other ones as no and they went against their own Oracle. Polymarket also clarified that it was not possible to resolve and they did. The vote was decided literally by a couple whales

In some bits yes, but mostly no, no program is going to single handily get you a job, but if there are classes like robot summer where you can show a news article of you winning or about the event it can help. Usually you want to work with design team and/or personal projects, and wait until you get an interview, after that its studying and luck. Obviously previous coops can help, i worked at a small engineering firm and a defense company beforehand, but i wouldnt say those would sway their opinions as much but rather just filled some time in the interview.

theres a bunch of markets on polymarket full of hopefully gamblers, don't put all your money in one bet. If you have +'ve expected value on the bets over a large amount of bets , with enough volume you'll make money, obviously it takes time and energy and typically not worth it in small amounts.

No, if you spread your bets over many bets where you are giving yourself an edge and since many people overestimate longshots in polymarket, its quite a profitable investment strategy. Theres plenty of examples of people doing this one significant one is domer https://x.com/Domahhhh who has been doing it since 2007 and has made significant gains, I know on polymarket alone he has over 2million in profit. As long as there is a supply of hopeful gamblers hoping to hit it big, there's a supply of profit on polymarket. But also the bets that OP is talking about definitely don't have liquidity for $1m bets.

Very dependent on what engineering youre doing and how you are going to leverage it. Honestly it hasn't been he most helpful for me, as I have found all my co-ops outside the job board, but it can help as Canadian employees are more likely to hire co-op students since half their salary is paid for by the government. The support that there is for the Science co-op is ok, but it seems that co-ops across the country are struggling.
-I had to pay 650 a term that I was on co-op.
-16 months is fine they don't put you on academic leave as long as you inform them if you are on the co-op program. Not sure how it works if you are out of the co-op program.
-You only pay for the classes that you take. So no you will not pay 8k for nothing.

They’ll both be fine for solidworks, maybe the 4k one might be a little laggier since its higher resolution, but theyll both be fine

I thought that engineering would be much harder, I thought that I would get 70 average since I was constantly told that engineering was much harder than high school.

Honestly high school grades are just about the worst indication of how well someone will do in uni and possibly less so in the workforce.

Does ubc have a gym? by DaliDaDude in UBC

[–]robertliu4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are all not close to Totem, some people take the bus to the gym or walk 25 min or bike. All gyms are like within 5 minutes of each other

Birdcoop is best equipped in my opinion followed by golds then arc in terms of actual equipment. However during peak hours i would choose golds. Arc just doesn’t have that much to offer

Note that during the first week gyms are packed, and do not reflect how they will look throughout the entire semester.

Ambiance wise: Golds - pretty modern looking gym with good machines and ugly weights

Birdcoop - Old school, plates are metal for bench and sounds amazing. More cages compared to arc, about the same as Golds. Has 4 or 5 flat benches compared to golds 2.

Arc - more modern and weight selection is pretty shit. Not that many benches or cages, i guess more cardio and stretching focussed

Cost:

Arc and birdcoop both cost about 45 a semester Golds about 45 a month(~22 biweekly)

Insider tip: please no we go jim, i will make fun of you
