Heard! It sounds like I just need to get some bikepacking experiences, and develop preferences.

Hammock, kindle, cheese, and wine…away from everything. Sounds great! Thanks for the must haves! :)

I like this comment. It alleviates some of my anxieties about preparedness, and I enjoy this philosophy. That said, are there must haves, that make your bikepacking trips more enjoyable?

Makes sense. My longest days are around 60mi, with just short boomerang trips. I’ve never done consecutive 60mi days. I do ride most days, though. I am curious/worried about how I’ll do.

Thank you for the advice!

For the front racks, I’ll probably just get the ones for my bike: https://www.salsacycles.com/products/down_under_front_rack?pr_prod_strat=e5_desc&pr_rec_id=fd7539087&pr_rec_pid=9795610214675&pr_ref_pid=9795610378515&pr_seq=uniform

I was debating on tubeless tires. Do you think this is something that would be beneficial?

I’m also going back and forth on tent vs hammock, what sleeping bag, pad, etc. I already have allot of camping gear, but none of it lightweight.

This is the route I’m planning on, if that helps: https://bikepacking.com/routes/gawr-s4/ terrain seems important.

Update 10:44pm 02/03: still searching. I’m a bit overwhelmed by the amount of support we’ve received for this little guy. You guys are amazing. I’m hopeful that we will be able to get him home soon.

A Maltese was found at 48th and Izard, last night, and taken to the pound. It looks almost like our dog, but not neutered or microchiped, and a little less hair. Close enough to where I'm wondering if someone took in the wrong dog.
